[The broadcast starts with Jo centered pretty well, and she's talking up a storm. Well, for a few moments anyway. The video, despite her lips moving, is silent and she stops mid-sentence to clear her throat.
Her voice does not return and her expression falls, a frown settling itself firmly on her face. Fuck. Something was wrong. Actually she wasn't sure if she couldn't speak or hear, but both were troublesome.
The video ends abruptly. Seconds later, a text follows.]
Is it safe? What's going on?

It's not safe. There are still some Null rampaging around. We're killing them as fast as we can, though. Fear moved the city to a new location, and we're trying to clean up the remaining foes, who can't send reinforcements now. Not sure how he managed that last part.
You don't know me, but I wish you well. Are you all right?
text
Could be better. Are the Null everywhere or concentrated anywhere?
text
Everywhere. Sometimes I run into just a few, and once in a while, a whole crowd of them. They aren't exactly hiding, and they are still very aggressive, but they seem less focused than they did before the move.
Anything I can do?

Jo! When you did get back? Are you okay? You're really alive, right?
[ although texting wasn't nearly as satisfying because he couldn't see her, hear her. Frustrated, he dials her number and waits for it to pick up because damn it, he thought they were all gone. ]

Can't talk. I'm back. Alive and all.
