By now, I imagine that everyone is aware of the shortages we currently face. With Sorrow dead and Hope still in recovery, our food supply may be insecure for some time. And without electricity, it will be difficult for some of us to prepare what we do manage to find.
Under these circumstances, it seems both precarious and inefficient to let everyone scavenge for themselves. For now, I propose creating some kind of communal cooking space were we all can bring what we hunt and gather. An outdoor fire pit might suffice for now, although if someone else has a better proposal I would be glad to hear it.
Would anyone be interested in helping me to set something up?

[voice]
I'm not a cook, but I can definitely hunt. [and fish, but shh, he hasn't discovered all the good fish yet. In a day or two.]
[voice]
[The fish will be welcome
particularly if someone picks up wendigo poisoning from monster meat.]There should be enough of us who can, but if you'd like to learn I can teach you.
[voice]
I know some basic principles thanks to Ignis, but it's better if my hands are put to their best purpose.
[not that he wants to be transparently needy but...] ...I haven't had good grilled fish in so long...
[voice]
When we manage to put the city back in order, the offer will still stand.
[Fingon laughs.] Bring any fish you find to me and we'll soon put that right.
[voice]
Now that I said that, I haven't looked in the pools for fish yet. That would be wise. Then again, there's no guarantee that native game on this world is safe for us to eat.
...I'll test anything I find. [he can extract poisons from himself, he's the best choice]
[voice]
With all the water here, fish are at least a possibility.
[Sighing] A fair point, and one I had not considered. Will you need help with that?
[voice]
[voice]
[But he nods. Law knows what he's capable of taking better than Fingon does.]
[voice]
[voice]
How are you otherwise, besides the lack of grilled fish?
[voice]
[and injured, too, but it's not worth mentioning as far as he's concerned]
All of your family make it through all right?
[voice]
[So many people here never consider it worth mentioning when it's their injury.]
My cousin Maglor burnt his hands badly, and I took an unlucky blow to my sword arm. But we all lived; we will take that as a victory.
[voice]
[even after all this, it's still something of an instinct to fix what he can when he sees it]
I'll be fine. I'm not running as ragged as I was even just a few days ago. I can manage, now that there's no fighting going on.
[voice]
[Fingon wouldn't mind setting another healer on Maglor, but one should probably chat with the primary caregiver first.]
It is good that you're faring better now. Still, if you can get to sleep take the chance. We don't know when we'll need our strength back.
[voice]
[professional curiosity mostly, but hey, so far his dealings with the elves have gone well. The more the merrier.]
I do - I mean, I will. If your arm isn't slowing you down, I won't harass you to look at it either.
[voice]
[Which is a relief; Fingon's fine with his left hand, but it was inconvenient not being able to wield a sword with his right.]
I need to help dig a pit for the fire, but if that puts undue stress on it I will tell you.
[voice]
[sounds like it's not broken at least, so...yay?]
