[ the video starts abruptly on the exasperated face of a man in his mid-twenties. ]
Okay, so, look: I hate to make an introduction here by going "hey, I'm Axton, I need some help," but.
[ he pans the camera over to an enormous sabre turret that seems to be somehow droopy on one side. there's part of a panel missing, and a person with a keen eye might notice that some of the metal is actually slightly warped.
axton will sigh from behind his phone. ]
If anyone has some usable tools, or is just some kind of like - mechanical genius, I'm willing to work out some kinda deal. I just can't leave her looking like this, guys: it's breaking my heart.

[A few hours later finds Rhys at Axton's door, and- god, is he really going to do this? Help a Vault Hunter who killed Handsome Jack and just kind of hope that said Vault Hunter is good on his word and will protect him from another Vault Hunter when he inevitably realizes that Rhys is associated with Handsome Jack in the first place?
Yes. Yes he is.
God.
Rhys knocks on the door after a few silent moments of debate, folding his arms in front of him grouchily as he waits for a response.]

easy enough.
he pulls the door open, giving rhys a thoughtful frown and appraising once-over, before stepping back to let him in. ]
Sheesh. Took you long enough.

[But he shoulders his way inside anyway, frowning a little as he glances around the apartment.]
Where's the turret?
no subject
[ axton will just nudge the door to swing shut behind rhys, hooking his thumb toward the kitchen and leading him that way. ]
So - aren't you like- I don't know. A desk monkey?

I have cybernetics, you know. I have to do maintenance on them every once in awhile- and hey, I'm from Hyperion. We like robots.
[As if that wasn't apparent by the frothing masses of them everywhere on Pandora, but hey.]
I actually, y'know- I've got a little Atlas sentry with me that I've been working on.
no subject
Yeah? How'd you get your hands on that?
no subject
[That's harmless enough to tell him, Rhys thinks- after all, it's not like anyone could really know about a long-forgotten Vault Key inside of an underground bankrupt military base.
Also, it makes him seem more badass.]
The sentries attacked. I was able to, uh. [U H] -hack one.
[Rhys speaks while he handles the turret, crouching down over it to poke at one of the bent side panels. It'll snap off easily enough, he thinks, but he wants to be gentle- his life is pretty much on the line, here.]
Do you have a screwdriver? A coin works too. Or a butterknife, I guess.
no subject
[ this is the guy who asked gaige if you built robots by gluing them together, okay. he's so used to living the easy-breeze-digistruct-everything life.
axton turns to dig through what meager contents there are in a kitchen drawer, before he crouches down at rhys's side and passes it over... and does not move after he does. he apparently plans on staying right here. to watch. ]

[But Rhys takes the knife and uses it as well as he can to unscrew the side panel, gathering all of the little screws up and keeping them together as he hefts off the bent scrap of metal and has a look inside.
His echo-eye begins to glow as he scans the machinery inside of this portion of the turret- a handy trick that also emits enough light for Rhys to see what he's doing. After a minute or two of poking around, he shrugs and looks back up toward Axton.]
Eh, you've got a few damaged pieces in here. I can probably fix it with a soldering iron, maybe some wiring- might have to gut a toaster or something for a couple components.
[Rhys picks up the bent metal sheeting again, noting the dents.]
This'll need hammering out too. But- yeah, it's doable.
