[She's had time...a few days at least... to sort through things while working to help others. She's holding together as best as she can, but she knows that things here are complicated.]

I'm sure that it's been asked before by others, but I've yet to really find anyone that I can talk to regarding this. So, I've decided to address as many as possible at one time.

[She stalling, she knows she is. And that's not like her. After biting her bottom lip momentarily, she just decides to face the problem head on.]

Has anyone else run into time paradoxes? People from the past and people from the future coexisting when they really shouldn't? Meeting those that otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to do so?

How do you deal with it?

[After she asks that question, her demeanor changes.]

Are there any particular projects that can use a slightly disoriented politician that is out of her element?

By accepting the situation and focusing on the opportunity rather than the oddity. Our experiences shape us, after all. We can complain about our situation, and I will not deny that there is plenty to complain about, or we can befriend people we would otherwise have never met, and apply our skills in entirely different ways, without the constraints of our home societies.

[She pauses, deciding it's likely kinder to make Padme aware of certain details up front.]

I befriended Anakin just a little shy of a year ago, and I fought alongside Luke in the most recent attack.

[Padmé is patient and she waits for the other woman to finish speaking before continuing.

And she suddenly wishes she hadn't replied in the first place. But, regret is something she's not going to live with any more.]

Anakin has always needed more friends, so that is good. I'm sure that he appreciates you.

[Jealous? Not really, but a little wary as to what sort of person this woman is.]

And I'm afraid that I don't know Luke very well to judge what sort of man he is or could be.

He and I both offer lessons to those wishing to learn to defend themselves, and an illusion crafted by the gods gave us false memories of being siblings for a time.

[She's got you covered, not!bro.]

Luke is a dutiful warrior who fought with everything he had to keep injured people safe. Hope, the god who can revive and heal people, was badly injured from the attack. So were several of the people who initially defended him. Luke used the Force to move the injured to a defensible position, and we fought in formation with our friend Curufin until even more arrived.

He...was an only child, growing up. Did he tell you much about that time?

[She is curious as to how much Anakin has shared with others. Since for a long time he never talked about his childhood on Tatooine with anyone but her, Obi-Wan and Palpatine. Had he opened up to more people since his arrival here?]

Luke sounds like someone I know back home. I'm glad that he's willing to put others before himself and wants to fight to protect others.

No, not really. Our friendship has become decidedly sibling-like since the gods' interference, and I know that a lot weighs on his mind, but he's shared more recent concerns rather than those of more than a decade ago with me, primarily.

[She's given him some very good advice on how to murder Palpatine, for one, but also some advice on things he can do to feel more at peace, and ideas on what might be possible to fix things. The Door proves time and again that time is not linear for it, after all.]

He is a calm and open-minded person, too.

I'm not surprised to learn that he doesn't talk about his childhood much. He doesn't have a lot of good memories from Tatooine.

[A childhood as a slave and the death of his mother being the top of the list.]

He was trained by a man who was very much like that. It's no wonder he's turned out like that.

Perhaps he will be happier now that you are here. I know he has missed you immensely.

[To put it mildly. She's not going to disclose anything that was said in confidence, but Anakin was pretty obvious about missing Padme. Anyone who knew him at all would know that.]

Oh, were you personally acquainted with Luke's teacher?

Perhaps.

[And she isn't ready to give into the concession that her very existence fuels a great portion of Anakin's motivations. That so much of his well-being rests on her. It's too much.]

Yes, he was also Anakin's teacher.
