So, I know of at least a couple of people who were here in Hadriel before, left, and then came back. Neither of them have memories of their initial time here.

I'm interested in anyone else who's had the same thing happen, but - I guess this is also a warning. The Door must do something to us when we leave, something that makes us forget the things that happened here. It's up to you whether you think that's good or bad, but everyone deserves to know.

And if anyone has left and come back but does remember things, say something. So far this seems universal, but there's no way to be sure yet.

[peter makes a hmm sound.]

Sorta, but not quite. I mean, you don't have to know how something works or control it exactly to have it work in your favor. That's why they opened it at all, right? To work in their favor. And it is, even if they're just along for the ride.

I guess we can't prove anything, for better or worse. But it's hard to ignore the trend of everything always working out for their benefit.

Maybe you should ask all of them about it. See what kinda answers you get.

What do you mean? Somebody leaves, and you either hope they come back or you hope they don't. Maybe you're angry about getting left here. Meantime, you're afraid of your other friends leaving, afraid your friend will come back and not remember you, hopeful that they will, and mad as hell that these asshole gods or that stupid door put you in this position. Seems like everyone's winning on that side to me.

Oh, likelihood. It would be nice to know whether that was a total crapshoot. I guess my point is that I'm not sure it matters to the gods, they win either way. Might matter to the Door, but who knows what that thing is thinking, if it thinks at all.

We'll know some more stuff, anyway. Counts for something, even if it's that we can't conclude shit about shit.

I think there's a saying about wisdom being knowing what you don't know. Guess we're all very wise.
