Video 3 - Margaery's Apartment
[The video opens not in the Sewing Shop but in Margaery's apartment where she's sitting in the middle of her bed, a pillow clasped in her arms. she's looking down from the camera and she's in a bathrobe and nightgown, both wrinkled. her hair is disheveled and her eyes are heavily rimmed with red, as though she's spent a long time crying. which she has been. a whole day and night and a new day of crying.
she tries to look up at the camera, clear her throat and speak, but the words don't come. fresh tears well in her eyes and she looks down again, biting her lower lip.
a long moment passes with nothing but Margaery fighting back tears and silent. finally, she looks back up at the camera and speaks]
I--I thought people may want to know that Matt Murdock is no longer among us. His. His help was invaluable in the time before the Null invasion and [her voice breaks] he will be missed greatly.
[she brushes a tear off of her cheek, looking down again. she forces herself to look back up and continues]
I need to apologize to those I promised garments to. I. It will be at least another month before they're finished. I'm--I'm sorry.

He was--he is my beloved. And you're right. This place won't be the same without him.
no subject
I am so sorry. I did not know him well, but he was brave and true. If there is anything I can do to help, lady, please do not hesitate to ask.
no subject
My name is Margaery Tyrell, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
I'm sorry, too. He was--is the bravest man I've ever known. I would appreciate a listening ear?
no subject
[ He bows to her, court-formal ]
Maglor, at your service. And a listening ear I can do, with good will.
no subject
Greetings, ser Maglor.
How well did you know Matt?
no subject
How did you meet, if I might ask?
no subject
...I was so proud when I saw he'd done that. He knew when he did it that it would make him a target, but he did it anyway. It gave me the courage to defy the Null as well.
We met on our first day here since we arrived together. I was looking for suitable clothes in the shops and he happened on me there. We started talking and we just--connected. More than mere physical attraction.

To speak out always takes courage - and to do so politely, without accusation or blame, takes a good deal of sense and a kindly heart.
[ He smiles a little at that ]
The best sorts of relationships are built that way, aye. They say a friendship begins when you look at another and say 'what, you too?' But I think all the best sorts of all relationship begin that way. I am glad that you had such a chance as to know such joy!
no subject
[she tries to smile back, but it's faltering at best]
Joy then, grief now. For I may have lost more than the man I love. I may have lost a second chance at life.
no subject
[ He makes a low sound of sympathy ]
There is no return for you to your own world then? I am sorry lady! Great indeed are your sorrows!
no subject
[she bursts into a fresh round of crying.
through her tears] No, I can't. I'm already dead there and the world has moved on without me. There's no going back.
no subject
[ He grieves with her ]
I am so sorry. I would offer you another road out, if I only knew how.
no subject
His world. I was to go to his world. I still want to go. I have to go.
no subject
Should I come to you, lady? Sometimes, such griefs are better shared in person. I wish I knew how to open that door for you lady.
no subject
...perhaps that would be best. I'm in spire one, 501.
no subject
[ And he is, with tea ]
Your majesty?
no subject
Hello. Please, come in.
no subject
Forgive the intrusion, milady. I brought some tea - I've been told it helps?
no subject
It's no intrusion. And thank you for the tea.
[she leads him into the apartment, toward the living room. she sort of collapses onto the sofa, legs tucked under her, then pats the seat next to her]
Please, be seated.
no subject
Thank you for allowing me this familiarity.
[ He murmurs, pours her the tea ]
It was only that I thought... it is not good to be alone, when you grieve.
no subject
There's no need to thank me.
[she takes the offered tea and takes a sip]
No. It's not. I've never really felt--quite like this. Like all of my innards have been scooped out of me and discarded.
no subject
There is. [ He says gently ] Am I not a stranger you have invited into your home? That takes courage too, lady, an open heart not willing to be made hard by grief.
I think, maybe, he saw in you what you saw in him, courage and kindness, blended in equal measure.
[ He nods his hands curling around his own cup ]
I wish I could tell you the pain goes, but it does, at least, lessen with time. I've never known your grief, milady, but grief has similarities, I think.
no subject
she chews at her lower lip briefly] You are, but. . . you've been so sincere and so comforting. So I'm willing to trust you.
[tears well up and threaten to spill over at that remark] Perhaps. All I know is, Matt is the only man I've felt free to be my entire self with. And he accepted me as I am.
[she takes a sip of her own tea and stares into it contemplatively]
I've never felt like this before. Never even imagined I could. It's like all of my insides have been removed and I just feel empty.
no subject
Especially after one has been wounded so.
[ He nods, contemplating his own cup ]
Aye. You will find that the emptiness will fill, at times - with anger, with grief. I have been told those are... normal. [ A wry smile quirks his lip briefly ]
The hollowness... that never really goes away. But it becomes easier to bear, in time.
no subject
[tears well up and she looks down] Wounded. Yes, that's a good word for it.
[she chews on her lower lip] So I'll never feel whole again?
