Video 3 - Margaery's Apartment
[The video opens not in the Sewing Shop but in Margaery's apartment where she's sitting in the middle of her bed, a pillow clasped in her arms. she's looking down from the camera and she's in a bathrobe and nightgown, both wrinkled. her hair is disheveled and her eyes are heavily rimmed with red, as though she's spent a long time crying. which she has been. a whole day and night and a new day of crying.
she tries to look up at the camera, clear her throat and speak, but the words don't come. fresh tears well in her eyes and she looks down again, biting her lower lip.
a long moment passes with nothing but Margaery fighting back tears and silent. finally, she looks back up at the camera and speaks]
I--I thought people may want to know that Matt Murdock is no longer among us. His. His help was invaluable in the time before the Null invasion and [her voice breaks] he will be missed greatly.
[she brushes a tear off of her cheek, looking down again. she forces herself to look back up and continues]
I need to apologize to those I promised garments to. I. It will be at least another month before they're finished. I'm--I'm sorry.

Hello. Please, come in.
no subject
Forgive the intrusion, milady. I brought some tea - I've been told it helps?
no subject
It's no intrusion. And thank you for the tea.
[she leads him into the apartment, toward the living room. she sort of collapses onto the sofa, legs tucked under her, then pats the seat next to her]
Please, be seated.
no subject
Thank you for allowing me this familiarity.
[ He murmurs, pours her the tea ]
It was only that I thought... it is not good to be alone, when you grieve.
no subject
There's no need to thank me.
[she takes the offered tea and takes a sip]
No. It's not. I've never really felt--quite like this. Like all of my innards have been scooped out of me and discarded.
no subject
There is. [ He says gently ] Am I not a stranger you have invited into your home? That takes courage too, lady, an open heart not willing to be made hard by grief.
I think, maybe, he saw in you what you saw in him, courage and kindness, blended in equal measure.
[ He nods his hands curling around his own cup ]
I wish I could tell you the pain goes, but it does, at least, lessen with time. I've never known your grief, milady, but grief has similarities, I think.
no subject
she chews at her lower lip briefly] You are, but. . . you've been so sincere and so comforting. So I'm willing to trust you.
[tears well up and threaten to spill over at that remark] Perhaps. All I know is, Matt is the only man I've felt free to be my entire self with. And he accepted me as I am.
[she takes a sip of her own tea and stares into it contemplatively]
I've never felt like this before. Never even imagined I could. It's like all of my insides have been removed and I just feel empty.
no subject
Especially after one has been wounded so.
[ He nods, contemplating his own cup ]
Aye. You will find that the emptiness will fill, at times - with anger, with grief. I have been told those are... normal. [ A wry smile quirks his lip briefly ]
The hollowness... that never really goes away. But it becomes easier to bear, in time.
no subject
[tears well up and she looks down] Wounded. Yes, that's a good word for it.
[she chews on her lower lip] So I'll never feel whole again?
no subject
Not... entirely. [ He says slowly ] But... like any wound, it... scabs over. Eventually, you will barely notice it, unless something stirs the scar. And then it will hurt again, but the hurt will be... blunted. You will be able to think I miss him, and the pain of it will be blended with the joy of having had him, for that brief shining moment. You... go on. Because in living, you hold that memory alive.

He does. As do you. [ He makes a face at the mention of political marriages - although he understands the usefullness of them, it is not something that Elves do - but he says nothing ]
They say it is better to have loved and lost, but to love is to open oneself up for pain, and the loss I would not wish on any.
no subject
I was to go to his world. I still aim to. I know enough about him and his world that I think I can do it.
no subject
[ He murmurs ]
But time will come when you look back and say "he was the best thing I ever had, and I do not regret the meeting, despite the pain of parting."
[ He nods ]
In that endeavour, lady, I wish you good fortune - as the Eagles would say, May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks - love may accomplish great things, and I think if you truly wish it, you will, indeed, find a way.
no subject
[she looks down and bites her lower lip]
I do truly wish it. I've never wanted anything more. I'd rather be a commoner in his world than a queen in my own.
no subject
[ he reaches over to touch her arm in sympathy ]
It takes time, but it will.
[ he smiles at that ]
You speak wisdom that more could stand to learn. May your faith not be in vain.
no subject
[she tries to smile back, but it's far from her usual sparkling smiles, which she's well aware of. that knowledge brings fresh tears to her eyes]
It won't be. I'll do whatever it takes, ask anyone I need to ask, as long as it means that we're together in the end.
no subject
[ He says wryly ]
What aid I can give lady, you need but ask. [ He promises ] For such love ought to be rewarded.
no subject
I--I know I'll need someone to talk to. If you don't mind...?
no subject
My lady need but ask. [ He promises again ] I am honored to be someone you can trust in that way.
no subject
You have proven yourself to be truly kind. Such a thing is a rarity, at least in my experience.
no subject
I too have known the grief of loss. I know... how hard loneliness is. I would not see it in another, if I can ease it, even a little.
no subject
You've lost the one you love, too?
no subject
A long time ago.
no subject
I'm so sorry. Would you want to--to talk about it?
