[Kyna helpfully wiggles her fingers in a little wave. She's very clearly some kind of elf, with pointy ears and all.]

So, my magic's back, which is good, since a lot of things want to fucking kill us here. Anyway, I'm offering lessons or whatever. I'm an evocation wizard, which means I know a lot of spells that blow shit up, but I know defensive magic too, if that's your bag. No healing spells, though. Find a cleric for that.

Oh, yeah, this probably goes without saying but, you know, bloodthirsty assholes need not apply. If I've heard sketchy shit about you I'm not teaching you.

[She pauses for a moment, head tilting as she thinks.]

It's like a worship thing, I guess? But it's not like anyone knows if they're actually... I don't know. Gods. Shit, some people make deals with faeries for magic. Or demons.

Okay. What's your... you know, criteria?

Criteria for them being gods? They should have more omniscience than they have, for one. And two, even they admit they are not gods. I think that discredits them quite a bit, don't you?

Yeah. They're assholes.

[She shrugs.]

What are gods like where you're from?

There are a number of them, most who are monstrous at best, even my goddess. Why would they lower themselves to appear as the creatures beneath them, those they created?

[Just one more reason he's not keen on ever believing those in Hadriel to be true gods.]

Uh... I don't know? What do you mean, "lower themselves"?

The so-called gods here, appearing in human guise rather than in their natural forms. You wouldn't ever see my goddess debasing herself in such a way.
