Probably not the best time for this, but I have to ask now that I've poked around a little. How many of you here are older than, say, a thousand years or so? I'm just curious.

On another note, what are your thoughts on the... captors, I suppose, feeding on the various emotions as it were? Such a thing isn't really... uncommon where I'm from, so it's always interesting to see a new side to it from those not as familiar. We have another name for them, as well, but that is something I'll leave to all of you to be curious about.

Though I'm sure someone here could enlighten you on the term if she so felt inclined.

[Sure, there's some truth to the other woman's words. Enough people have come into Hadriel looking for a second chance. They'd all made mistakes along the way, hadn't they? Didn't they deserve a place to try again in? Maybe.

But it's been months and Lup can still remember all too vividly what it felt like to be helplessly trapped while her brother had laid dying. She'd screamed and paced and teared at the walls of her prison while his life force went weaker and weaker outside of her reach.

Lup's better at forgiveness than her brother, sure, but she still has her limits.]

Our captors remind me a lot of the demons we have back home. Rage demons, fear demons...you see the pattern, they're based on emotions, too. So the fact that the ones here are leeching off us like this? Really not helping me see the difference. People can call them 'gods' but a fear demon is a fear demon, to me.

So they're the same thing across different worlds but with a different name, I can't say I'm terribly surprised. Emotions are a strong force no matter what type of living creature you are, after all.

I guess the only one that might be a spirit and not a demon in my world's eyes would be Hope. Demons embody all the negative shit, while spirit's don't. [It's more complicated than that, but Aren's not a mage and she doesn't care about the fine details.] Leeching off all of us is still a pretty dick move, though.

Afraid not. You'd think after a certain age you wouldn't care anymore, it becomes more of a... matter of pride saying you're such and such ridiculous, by human standards, age and still look as if you were a young adult. But maybe that's just me.
