[Swift is, let's be honest, not great with using this thing. It feels clunky and unnecessary, but it's what he's got to work with. Not everyone is a har, so he'll learn to live with it. Maybe eventually he'll even get good at it.

He hasn't had a proper babysitter.] I would like to take a moment to apologize personally if he's been incorrigible or stubborn or plain mean. I don't know all of what he said to everyone, but I'm hoping it won't be a problem for much longer. [It will still be a problem for a while until Seel gets used to having Swift around again, and he knows that. He's at least prepared for it. This by itself is going to cause a fight.]

If you are having problems with him, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll make sure it's taken care of. Once again, I am very sorry and I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again.

To do him some credit, it does take quite a bit to insult me. [Like telling her she can't do something.] A few differences of opinions presented civilly is hardly going to send me into tears.

When one goes into politics, one hardly expects others to go straight for daggers, so at least he's done that while we've disagreed on some points.

You may have managed to appeal to his better nature that way. He is a Gelaming, after all, and politics is what they do.

I'm not certain what a Gelaming is, but I've been a politician since I was born. If you ask my father, that is. So, dealing with difficult people is something of a specialty of mine.

However, I can see why he would be an acquired taste. I fear he isn't the only person here where those words could be applied.

No, I suppose he isn't, but I still feel that an apology is warranted somewhere. Whether that person comes forward or not, at least I've tried.

Something tells me that if Seel were the sort of man to invoke the kind of ire to need this sort of public opinion on a regular basis, others here have already taken it up with him.

I can't say that I regret knowing him. That would be completely disingenuous. But you're right that it's not easy.

I'm sure that he would believe that, but in this matter, it's your opinion of him that counts. For myself, I would say that he is worth a great deal of trouble.

But I'm not without my own faults.

Love can make up for a great deal of things.

And patience is a good trait to have when dealing with difficult people and there are plenty of those here. Myself included.

I know many people who would disagree in that regard. Although, I find being thought soft works with crushing the opposition later.

Now, back to Seel. Have you had others fight you about his personality? I know that my opinion isn't universally shared over a lot of things.

There's a difference in being soft and in being thought soft. [He has learned that difference rather well over the years.]

A few. They see to believe that it's perfectly alright to be an unmitigated ass because "that's just how he is."

While that might be true in practice, in theory, people confused the two a great deal of the time. I've been called idealistic for wanting to actually do the job that I was sent to do. Imagine that.

I agree. It seems there are quite a few here who don't. I can only imagine what they must think of me now.

I've made my peace with being underestimated at every turn. Real change doesn't happen immediately and I'm not naive to think it odes.

To be honest, I wouldn't put much stock in other people's opinions. You can't please everyone, and it's stupid to try.

I don't intend to please everyone, but I would rather not have to deal with a mob.

So direct the mobs to Seel. I think he can handle them. He doesn't strike me as the type to be easily intimidated by anyone, let alone people out for his blood.

He's not the one they're angry with and they don't seem to believe they even should be. I'm half sure they won't even listen to me anymore.

Give them a time and their heads will cool off. And if you've said what you wanted, it's out there should their opinion change.
