[Swift is, let's be honest, not great with using this thing. It feels clunky and unnecessary, but it's what he's got to work with. Not everyone is a har, so he'll learn to live with it. Maybe eventually he'll even get good at it.

As I understand it, Seel har Parasiel has been here for quite some time...alone, let's say. [Unsupervised. He means unsupervised. He hasn't had a proper babysitter.] I would like to take a moment to apologize personally if he's been incorrigible or stubborn or plain mean. I don't know all of what he said to everyone, but I'm hoping it won't be a problem for much longer. [It will still be a problem for a while until Seel gets used to having Swift around again, and he knows that. He's at least prepared for it. This by itself is going to cause a fight.]

If you are having problems with him, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll make sure it's taken care of. Once again, I am very sorry and I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I don't think you realize how much I already know that. That won't stop me from at least trying to make him a better person even if by now it's too late to.

If he isn't going to take responsibility for his actions, then I have to. It's my right and my responsibility and I am not going to forgo it, even here. You can flail all you'd like about what you think you know about him, but you won't change my mind.

That's your prerogative, but I believe 30 years of firsthand knowledge and experience trumps 8 months of what sounds to have been if not outright lies, then certainly rather important omissions.

I think I'll be just fine making my own decisions on who I trust.

As I said, that's your prerogative. I just don't happen to believe that you know or understand as much as you think you do.

There's nothing you can do. Or that you're willing to do, evidently. Reining Seel in is my job and I will continue to do it, regardless of the opinions of others.

I mean my job. If there isn't somehar holding him back, there's no telling what he'll try to do. That has just happened to fall on me.

No. It makes me believe that humanity is just as unaccepting and obtuse as I was raised to believe.

[ Cashmere's not sure if she should feel insulted or not, and that confusion is evident. ] What's that supposed to mean?

It means that I was frightened growing up with tales of how humans were not to be trusted, they hurt hara and they hated harlings because we were different. Because we weren't them. Because we were growing while they were fading. I wanted to believe differently because they were afraid too, but perhaps I was wrong about that.
