So, um. This is gonna sound stupid? Probably because it is. But does anyone have any tips for how to--how to flirt? 'Cause I don't know how. Like, at all.

Actually... I wouldn't wish the way I had to learn on anyone. When you're a demigod, monsters are always after you if you don't have a safe place to be like Camp Half-Blood with it's barrier, and... let's just say I wasn't at camp and was on my own. I had to learn fast or else I would have ended up dead quick.

Being able to summon the dead did come in handy then, though. I could summon instructors from any age of history. Didn't really need a living teacher.

So you could say, like, I want--I dunno, Achilles to show up and he'd be there?

There's a little more ceremony to it than just saying that but essentially, yeah.

That actually did happen. If you're going to ask someone to train you, might as well be the best, right? [That and he wanted to talk with Achilles and Patroclus too for other reasons...]

Oh. Like what kind of ceremony?

Yeah, I mean, not only the training but all of the history and stories that come along with it. [George is a super-nerd, she'd have all of the questions]

I speak some words in Ancient Greek and offer food and drink to the dead, mostly.

I'm pretty sure being a child of Hades is probably a requirement too. Maybe a child of Pluto could do it, or any other demigod whose godly parent has some sort of dominion over spirits.

--hold up, you said a child of Hades? As in the death god?

He's not actually the Greek god of death - that's Thanatos. Hades is the god of the dead but not death itself. He's also the god of wealth and the Underworld.

I didn't know that the Greek gods will still out there.

In my world, they are. There are other gods too - Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Norse... Probably more. I can't reach them here though, otherwise I'd be able to get to the Underworld.

And everyone's--cool with that? 'Cause if I remember my mythology right, the gods didn't get along all that well.

The different pantheons almost always avoid each other except for the Greek and Roman ones but they're... [How to explain, hmm.] They're more like two sides of the same coin. The same being but the aspect of Hades is a little different than the aspect of Pluto, even if at the core it's the same god.

As for within the pantheons... Yeah. Yeah the gods fight all the time and the demigods are usually the ones who have to clean up after them. [He says it a bit disgruntedly.]

That's fucking typical. But isn't that the way it always works? Like the thing with the gods and the Null. It's their fight, but we were the ones who had to deal with it.

Yeah, being here isn't that much different from being back home... besides, you know, you can't actually get home or see anyone you know unless they show up here.

So you had to deal with shit like the gods and Null thing a lot? That sucks.

All. The. Time. I lived through two wars between the ages of 10 and 14 and there's probably another one looming on the horizon again. The peace doesn't ever seem to last for very long. Come to think of it, for all the trouble we've had here, I'm tempted to say this place is the more peaceful of the two.

That's kind of sad, you know. That this place would be more peaceful.

Life is never easy for demigods. We have a certain smell to monsters that makes it not difficult for them to find us so unless we're at a place like camp that's behind borders, there's not really a safe place for us to live. That's partly why there is a camp, to have a mostly safe place to be and to learn how to defend ourselves. [He says mostly because the barrier has been breached a few times.]

At least it's come in handy helping to fight against the Null.

Was your world that exciting? [He says 'exciting' with a bit of sarcasm, but he's also interested in knowing more about her world.]

...shit. That would suck. You're just out for a latte and some monster tries to take your head off. Do you guys at least have your own cities or--or neighborhoods at least?

Not even close. I mean, there are Grim Reapers and Gravelings, but that's about it.
