[So, someone looks very perky and cheerful today. Not that he doesn’t look perky and cheerful 98% of the time. However, he seems particularly enthusiastic to talk to everyone as he has decided to talk about his favourite topic ever: HOPE.]

So, this place draws in so many people from other worlds – whether human, superhuman, elf or what have you. So many different walks of life. Many of us have different stories to tell. It’s not just that, though. All of us have faced different degrees of despair here, being stuck in a new world with no apparent way of going home and being away from the ones we care about.

Not to mention that we’ve also been through other incidents of chaos like the Null attacking and certain people betraying us to them. [His smile fades and he looks briefly serious. Curse you Delight.

After a few moments, his carefree and excited demeanour back though.]

No matter what though, I’m sure we can find a way to overcome it all together! There are a ton of us here with all sorts of different talents, supernatural powers and different forms of hope! If we combine all of those, our hopes can grow. They can shine a light so bright that even those who wish to crush that light to dust won’t stand a chance!

Speaking of which, I was wondering – what types of hope do you have? What motivates you to fight against the Null? Do you desire to go home to see your loved ones? Or something else? I’m interested!

I'm not going to let them kill us. [The Null, that is.]

We're innocent and we don't deserve to die because they're scared.

[Oh hey. Whoever this girl is, she sounds like she's full of hope as well. That's a positive sign! How much hope does she have though?]

[She's quiet, looking thoughtful for a moment.]

I think we can stay alive.

You do? [And he pretends to be puzzled.] Hmmm.....what makes you so sure of that?

We've done a pretty good job of it so far.

Hmmm....you seem to be pretty determined. What if the Null turns out to be more powerful than we even imagined, though? What if they are hiding their true strength? After all, they have apparently managed to destroy other planets.

I'm not going to give up, and I don't think most of us will either. [So...That's something.]

I don't care how strong they are. So far, we're doing okay.

Hmm.....well, it does seem that there is a strong sense of hope inside you. [And his eyes light up at that.] That's wonderful! With people like you, I'm sure we can find a way to stop the Null!

[...Oh.

She laughs weakly.]

That's the plan.

That is wonderful to hear! I look forward to seeing your hope blossom!

...Right.

[She doesn't look convinced.]

Is fighting the Null how we go home?

[Asriel's still pretty new to what the Null actually are, and showed up here after they attacked.]

Well, not necessarily. After all, the portal is the one that brought us. But who knows? It's certainly a possibility. Not one we have any proof of, though.

Are you always such a positive young man?

[He's smiling easily, asking out of curiosity more than anything else]

I wouldn't call myself positive. I'd say the opposite, actually. [And he's not completely wrong if you ever find out how paranoid he is when it comes to his luck. As well as his terrible self-esteem.]

Oh, you sound like a veteran. I've only just arrived recently, though I've been trying to investigate these incidents closer. Perhaps you wouldn't mind lending me a hand?

I wouldn't call myself a veteran, actually. I've only been here for a few months. I'd be happy to help, though. [It would make him useful for once! A tiny bit useful, at least.]

That is still considerably longer than I have, so I would appreciate any information you could share. For instance, I have read about the Null in a guide I found on the network, but it was only very little. Do you know what exactly they are?

Well, I don't know a huge amount either but I was there when they were attacked. It wasn't too long after I arrived, actually.

Any small bit would help. For instance, what did they look like? What kind of attacks did they use and, more importantly, can they be deflected in any way?

Well, I can tell you a little bit about that. But.....[There's always the small chance someone might be watching.]....you know, it's quite peaceful near the lake. I feel like taking a little nap near the shore. Not that you're not free to join me, obviously, although I'd be surprised if you want to go anywhere near somewhere like me.
