Yes! Null believe that hosts have difficulty memorizing strings of numbers. Null believe that vocal patterns are easier for hosts to remember.

You're correct in that sounds are easier to remember than numbers. 'Name' isn't usually used as a name, but if you like it then that's what is important. It's definitely memorable.

Unclear. Why does [Lance] want to help?

Because I'm choosing to believe you're telling the truth, and that means you're alone, in a dangerous situation regarding both the other Null and the people here, and you're capable of feeling emotions. I don't want anyone to be hurt, physically or emotionally, so I'd like to help if I can.

The Null study of the hosts has shown that several of them have a highly distinguished sense of morality which they place above other priorities in times of peril.

This unit does not believe that every other unit is being honest. Humans are prone to dishonesty when there is something to gain. This is a trait that the Null do not share. Even if they were genuine, then they could unintentionally lead others to [Name].

Not at all what he'd been expecting in response; he'd been prepared for more uncertainty and maybe a tentative start of trust that could be built on, but not this much information or this responsibility. I can help you with that, yes. Figuring out who is telling the truth and what their motives are is one of my jobs back in my world.

You're right to be cautious; it's very likely at least some of those people are trying to deceive you. Of those you mentioned I only know Washington, Atem, and Nick, but I'll speak with as many of those listed as possible to see what their actual intentions are. However, it's likely Nick at least is genuine, if he's offered to help.

[Lance can't see Nick using that kind of trickery, even if he's probably subtle enough to be capable of it. And okay, as for that last part, he's going to try to shut that down with logic--]

I wouldn't suggest using that method of determining loyalty. Not only will that make those here immediately turn again you once it becomes known of, but the kind of people who would take you up on that offer are not the people you'd want to trust. Those who genuinely want to help you want to do so out of kindness; if they would be willing to kill someone else to find you, their motives are not good.
