I have an inquiry for anyone willing to answer:

Is it common - in your opinion - to speak of lustful acts openly and crassly? There was so much I did not know before entering into my third betrothal and following marriage. I believe if the subject wasn't seen as wholly impolite, I might have been better prepared.

Of course I cannot agree with being crass. Surely there is a happy medium?

I don't know that I'd call it crass, but I don't see a reason to keep it such a secret. If you want somehar, you should be able to say so.

Cursing is rather crass and seeking relations outside of ~~marriage~~a relationship could be considered as much. I do not know how to be so forward.

It's an issue of loyalty. If you are betrothed or married, you should wait to be with your intended. Otherwise you might risk bastards or diseases.

That's fine. I've just never really had a chance to talk to a human about things like that.

I didn't say it doesn't have to be special but humans make it so complicated.

It is curious how we differ. Women especially must worry about unwanted pregnancy or injury.

I suppose that could be part of it. Wraeththu don't get sick and I suppose we don't have to worry about children unless we want them, either.

You are akin to Elves, I believe, in that regard. I do not think they have casual relationships, however, or if they do, they are quite subtle.

When we are betrothed or married, we make promises to stay true to one another. If we give our bodies to another, that is a trespass.

Besides the reasons I gave before, it is...hurtful. It makes either the husband or the wife feel like they are not enough.

I do not see it as "cutting someone off". I see it as a sign of loyalty.
