[the video opens on George, sitting on the edge of her bed with her legs crossed. she looks curious, but also a little sheepish as what she's about to ask is . . . personal.

So, uh, I was kind of wondering. How many people here died before they came here? And how many are now immortal?

I was just. Wanting to know?

I saved six warriors in total. It doesn't sound like much, but keep in mind that this was a small scale war, with a dozen or so warriors on each side, give or take. Hence why those extra manikin warriors were especially frustrating to deal with. The enemy truly had strength in numbers.

It might not be much, but those are still six lives that wouldn't be there without you. That's important. Especially since you were fighting with such shitty odds against you.

I never saw what came of it, but I'm hoping that's the case, that they not only lived to see another cycle, but that they also succeeded. They had a chance, though, you're right. That has to count for something.

It could count for a lot? Especially if they won.

I wish there were some way to find out the ultimate outcome of that war, if they did truly win. I guess the only way might be if someone arrived here... not that I would wish this situation on anyone, though. They deserve a break after all of that constant war.

Sounds like it. But it must suck to miss your friends.

I've gotten used to it. That doesn't make it any easier, of course, but... that's how it is. I've accepted it, as much as I can. I hope I'll see them again someday, though.

I guess I'm lucky. I only miss one person from home and there's no way in hell she's gonna show up here.

I wouldn't be so sure. They seem to be capable of bringing anyone here, from any world or point in time. Not that I'd wish for anyone to end up here, of course.

...it would be great to see Betty again. Even here.

It seems that everyone ends up here entirely at random... but who knows. People from the same world have been here at once before. I had someone here from mine for a time.

It was... and it was far better than I realized at the time. I wish I'd made more of her time here, somehow.

No one knows how long anyone's gonna be stuck here. You probably did what you could.

I did. Yes. I probably should have been more prepared for one of us to disappear though. If anyone else shows up... I'll keep it in mind, this time.

That's unfortunately all too true. It's best to accept that, as difficult as it may seem.

It's not difficult. I'm used to good things not lasting.
