[It feels like forever since he's made a network post, even though it's really only been about a month. But a lot has happened, and he's going to talk about absolutely none of it.
Instead, there are some pressing issues affecting everyone, and those are more important right now.]
Although this event is distracting, to put it mildly, it might help to focus on something else if possible. We know that we'll soon change locations, and since we have warning we can try to prepare; even if we don't know exactly where we're going to end up, making sure we have enough supplies, clothing, and that sort of thing will help, especially if things go unexpectedly.
[Like there's something wrong when they move, or the gods forgot to warn them about something, or the planet is different from how they remember, or any number of other reasons that might interrupt those in Hadriel's usual abilities to just go scavenge for what they might need.]
So those who are able to do so might consider preparing a little, as well as helping friends and acquaintances who might not be able to do because of the event. Even if you're not interested in looking for or stockpiling anything, those who haven't already should check in on those they know and make sure they're doing alright.
[Considering the range in severity this event.]

[ Totally different situation, but Stanton Parrish's entire plan hinged on killing most of humanity off to save the planet, soooo... ]
no subject
[Which they always are, even the good things; it's not really for them, after all, it just happens to be a god associated with a positive emotion.]
But at least they don't last that long, usually.

[ Not that the mere thought is upsetting or anything. God no, why would you ever think that? ]
And even if we go back to normal, what's next? Take away an eyeball? Some other body part? So they can keep running? They're gonna have to fight back someday.
[ You can't run forever. You have to take a stand now and then and fight for your right to
partybe who you are. Right? Something like that. Look, the sentiment still stands. ]no subject
[And so this one should too. But he definitely agrees with her next comments.]
You're right, though; the cycle will keep continuing until we actually deal with the problem. But unfortunately, right now we aren't in any better position to fight than we were last time.
[Partially because of the constantly running thing.]
i didn't mean to go there, for once
[ Psychology is actually pretty legit, even if she'd rather not be psychoanalyzed. She's fine okay the carpe diem thing works great for her and she isn't sad at all what are you talking about??? ]
Okay but, if we use that as a crutch, we're gonna get killed. And I don't know about you, but I don't really feel like dying any time soon.
I don't believe that okay
[And so it's supposedly the reason why everything seems to move in slow motion in a life or death situation. As for her last comment he gives a short exhale that's almost a rueful laugh, even though no one's around to hear it.]
I'm not interesting in dying either. However, I am interested in trying to find out something we can use to actually win, but unfortunately that seems to be a low priority for some of those here.
[Gods included.]
ok maybe i meant to a little bit
Okay, cool, but what if someone hits their head or something and loses their memories. It's like they started living today, but they're not zero years old. How does that theory work there? Do they feel like they've been around forever and never at the same time?
[ Kat that's oddly specific. Give Lance a break.
There's an audible scoff. ] I don't get some people. A lot of people.
[ That's because you don't know what if's like to have long-term memory, Kat. ]
a little. sure
I don't have any particular experience with that area either academically or practically. However, it would probably be kind of like when you sleep; the time of sleeping doesn't really register, exactly, but you know it passed. For someone with memory loss, they may know time is missing but still feel young all at once.
[As for her last comment--]
Understanding them unfortunately doesn't always help. It's often just kind of depressing.
[Not as much at home, but here definitely. So many people are just incredibly selfish and unable to look past short term benefits to themselves, which is frustrating to Lance.]

[ And it sounds like he's just about the only person besides Rosen she can maybe tell about her situation. Who knows, maybe Lance will have some perspective that Rosen doesn't. Maybe he thinks there's no justifying torture. That'd be nice to know about a guy who does counseling. And, you know, about anyone. ]
Yeah. [ She says that as she sighs. She can understand why Rosen and Hicks did what they did -- not so much Nina and Rachel, but whatever -- but the fact that they'd think that was okay? Well, Kat almost left the team over it. If it hadn't been for Bill, she might be dead. Or worse. ] Well, for what it's worth? I'm all for solving this problem before we're cornered.

[It's probably obvious, even through text, that it's a joke.
And her last response is good to know; it's too early to consider whether she'd be trustworthy regarding the issue of Name, but he'll keep it in mind for sure.]
That's good. The more of us working on that the better, especially when something comes up like the recent vote regarding the relocation. I think you arrived after that, but Sorrow is giving us the choice of where to move the city next, as well as what the benefits to each location might be. So far, strategy does not seem to be factoring too heavily in the decision-making of many here.
[And he's aware this comment is public, and so doesn't care.]

So that's what the vote was. That blows, we could really use some intel about, like, anything. I just got here about a week ago, so this is probably obvious, but I'm flying blind here. I hate that.
[ Things would be better if Bill were here. Or maybe not, but she'd sure feel better.
She gives a heavy, dramatic sigh. ] I'm gonna take a nap, just to pass the time. Maybe I'll wake up able to walk again. And you can get your voice back. And I can grill you about this place.
[ She has Rosen, but she isn't quite able to trust him yet. :/ ]
no subject
[And if they end up somewhere useless they'll just have to deal with it.]
A nap is a good plan. Just remember these usually don't last more than a week and a half, so it's just a matter of time.
I'll talk to you later, and I do hopefully mean 'talk.'
