[ thankfully, the partying has finally died down. ciri has actually been able to enjoy some restful sleep in silence without the sudden explosions of fireworks or the deep bass of constant music. she still looks tired but settles the device in a safe place, sitting back with her silver sword in hand and carefully beginning to clean the blade. ]

A lot of us here have powers. Magic, alchemy and other such skills but I find myself curious. Has anyone else suffered having their powers taken from them? I've only had a portion of mine fully removed while the rest has been... dampened, I suppose.

[ she's pretty sure she knows why she was stripped of a portion of her powers. after all, it wouldn't be good if she could just leave this world when they were clearly brought here for some reason. still, she is curious if it was this 'door' or those 'gods' that are the cause. ]

Also: there are those here that wish to learn how to wield a sword, yes? I can help with that if you're serious. I can also teach others how to make bombs and potions. We had many potions back home that proved useful against monsters and other beasts, I am hoping they can prove useful here as well.

So what d'you propose, then? Knocking them down a peg? I mean, I'd be all for that, if I knew exactly what we could do to them. [Even if nobody's exactly tried to walk up and shoot them yet, as far as she knows. But... it's not that easy, she's sure. Whether or not they're immortal, it's certain that they're powerful.]

Urgh. Yeah. [Lilith frowns.] I'm not down to waste all of my time here, either, but you kinda can't turn those feelings off in a place like this.

...What about that door thing, though? Apparently, they don't know how it works.

As good as that sounds, we're still in the dark to the full extent of their powers and how to even get them out. They tend to simply talk to us through these devices. [ hmm. ] It's a bit like witcher work back home. We have to gather as much information as possible before simply running in and hoping for the best.

[ she sighs though. ] No, sadly not.

I had considered that and just how much they're telling the truth concerning that thing. Is it in league with them? Or is it a third party? It would be helpful to study it but I was never one for getting a read on strange magical artifacts.

[cashlin]

A 'witcher'? Is that some kind of mercenary work back where you're from?

[She can't really protest-- her thing involves a good amount of running in and hoping for the best, but it isn't as if she doesn't have to do any recon first.]

And if I were any kind of authority on that, I'd know where my own powers came from already. [sigh.] Maybe getting a read on who around here knows their stuff in that department would be helpful?

In a manner of speaking. We take on contracts for coin but the only difference is that we only hunt monsters, we don't meddle in the affairs or politics of others.

[ most of them did, anyway. those from the school of the cat and the kingslayers from the school of the viper were different stories. ]

It wouldn't hurt. There's certainly plenty of people here with a wide array of abilities and knowledge.

Fair enough. I take on those kinds of contracts back home, too-- but I got a wider base of customers, so to speak.

[Cash, to her, is cash, so long as it isn't entirely morally abhorrent. Ain't no rest for the wicked, you know?]
