My name is Quentin Coldwater. I'm a magician. I used to teach at Brakebills, and for a while, I lived in Fillory. I've got a pretty good grounding in physics and mathematics, and interuniversal travel. Normally I would consider myself able to claw my way out of this shit, but no dice this time.

Is there anyone here who knows anything about any or all of the above?

[ First Seth found out that his brother had been in Hadriel about a year ago and now a familiar name--a number of familiar names were dropped that would have an effect on his girlfriend. And he wasn't sure if it'd be a good or bad effect.

The guy mentioned being a magician by the name of Quentin Coldwater, claiming to be him, referencing Brakebills and Fillory but looked nothing like the Quentin Coldwater that Margo had introduced to Seth. It was one thing for a familiar face to come from a different point in time and not hold the same memories but this... Seth didn't know what to make of it.

A wary face (easily could be confused as a stern look) appeared in the video reply. ]

The name 'Margo Hanson' mean anythin' to you?

Oh. Uh, right. Got it. That's not how it works where I'm from. You can shift between planes or worlds or whatever you want to call it, but there's no in between space you can hang out in.

Shit, so that probably means it's a system within a subset of universes.

I sat on the throne of the second king, next to Eliot Waugh, Julia Wicker and Janet Puchinsky.

Am I maybe older when you've met me? I don't intend to go back, but you never can tell.

Also Eliot's gold star gay, when I know him. Tall, yeah, but shorter than me by like half a foot, has the thing with his jaw?

[ She isn't going to believe so easily. There has to be something shady going on here, Margo just hasn't figured out what it is just yet. ]

Well, when it was me and Janet, he was drunk enough that he wasn't hugely engaged.

[And it's not like this is one of the worst memories of his life he's casually reminiscing.]

We're obviously from worlds that are twigs from the same branch of the parallel universe tree, that's all. Your Janet is you, Margo. Your Alice survived the fight with Martin.

Uh- if that's the case, were we able to kill him?
