My name is Quentin Coldwater. I'm a magician. I used to teach at Brakebills, and for a while, I lived in Fillory. I've got a pretty good grounding in physics and mathematics, and interuniversal travel. Normally I would consider myself able to claw my way out of this shit, but no dice this time.

Is there anyone here who knows anything about any or all of the above?

[ First Seth found out that his brother had been in Hadriel about a year ago and now a familiar name--a number of familiar names were dropped that would have an effect on his girlfriend. And he wasn't sure if it'd be a good or bad effect.

The guy mentioned being a magician by the name of Quentin Coldwater, claiming to be him, referencing Brakebills and Fillory but looked nothing like the Quentin Coldwater that Margo had introduced to Seth. It was one thing for a familiar face to come from a different point in time and not hold the same memories but this... Seth didn't know what to make of it.

A wary face (easily could be confused as a stern look) appeared in the video reply. ]

The name 'Margo Hanson' mean anythin' to you?

I knew someone who called themself a god and Tethered worlds together at a fixed point. Access that Tether and boom, you're in another world.

'Course, that's only if this world is in their purview, so to speak. But there would be a Tether in every world they have access to. Of which there are countless, so who knows, maybe we'll get lucky while we're hopping around.

Hello, Quentin Coldwater! I'm Curufin.

As my cousin Fingon says, there was a project last August that was run by Dr. Marian Tenebris and Dr. Alphys. There may have been other Lab personnel involved, I'm not sure. But I do know that those two scientists built some equipment that was supposed to detect the energy signature of the Door, the device that brought us all here. I and some others volunteered to guard her and the equipment wherever she was going to set it up. I think she may have tried various places in Hadriel, possibly even the caves, but I was only involved in guarding the equipment on Door day in the Colosseum.

Of course, she wanted to pinpoint the Door's exact location and take readings as it opened to let the newcomers in. The goal was ultimately to find out exactly how it functions and to get control of it. I do not know how much she learned in that short time that she had to work on it. Not too long afterwards, she herself disappeared, swept out of this world by that same Door. [ Hmm! A suspicious person might think there was a reason for her disappearance. ]

I cannot tell you much about her findings, except for one or two remarks she made in response to my questions.
