Hello, everyone! I wanted to remind you that the Sewing Shop is open and ready for business here on the North Island. I can make a wide variety of clothing or embellish that which you already have. You have only to ask.

The only price is that you have to obtain a bolt of fabric from Tranquility in exchange. All manners of fabric are welcome as are all colors.

One of your friends, Party Poison, has approached me about making clothing for all of you. He's already paid in advance, so all you need to do is come over so I can take your measurements and talk to you about what you would like to have.

Oh! We do have those. We call them the Gold Cloaks and they're utterly useless. Corrupt down to the last man.

Then you know what the 'crows are like. Nothin' but another weapon for the worst kind of people to use on the rest of us. 'cept our's had all the brainwashin' as an excuse.

[she actually wouldn't know. she was born to wealth and privilege so the worst abuses of the Gold Cloaks never impacted her]

...may I ask what brainwashing is?

It, like, they take away everything that makes someone who they are. They can't think for themselves anymore or feel anything that the person controllin' them says they can't. Brainwashin' means they only do what the person who did it says. They can't say no, no matter what it is.

...such a thing is possible? How hideous! To have your entire self stripped away for the convenience of another? Is there any way to undo it?

Very possible. With, like, science and stuff. [She has no idea how it works.] And sort of? For a long time no what thought that the people could be saved. But fate intervened. Just once, thought. A one time offer to free everyone. Guess fate got tired of watchin' all the death.

Thank goodness for that much, at least. But what of those who did the brainwashing? Were they punished?

I- [She pauses, clears her throat. She hadn't stuck around to check.] I don't know. A few hours after everyone was freed I ended up here.

Well, you'd think they'd be punished. Such an act cannot go without consequence.

Their hands are red to the bone. Everyone's lost someone because of what they did. I can't imagine many people are gonna want to let 'em go. Something will happen to them.

Likely executions would be in order and well deserved.

I don't doubt that's what will happen. [She can't speak to whether it's deserved. She can't trust herself to keep the venom out of her voice, to not give away how much of herself she'd given to vengeance before.] Something will have to happen to keep 'em from tryin' to take control again.

If there's anything I've learned about enemies, it's that merely defeating them isn't enough. They must die. [she doesn't bother to hide the ice in her voice]

[It sounds so much like the speech Girl had given the Witch, her own internal monologue when she first joined the Vs side. It's a jolt to her stomach to hear it out loud now, after she'd walked away from that path of death and revenge.]

Be nice if winnin' could be enough, wouldn't it?

[politics in Westeros were brutal and unforgiving. she often wishes she had just smothered Cersei in her sleep]

It would be. But it never is.

Yeah. [She sighs, pushing past the wave of regret in her chest.] Yeah. Some stuff can't be changed 'bout the world.

Is it the world or is it the people in it? [she often wonders about that, if all people in all worlds are as capable of such cruelty as those in Westeros]

People. The world's only as bad as the people let it be.

Then the people in my world must truly be terrible.

Worse. We've been in a civil war for five years and it shows no signs of stopping. Religious fanaticism gripped the land, though I suppose with the death of the High Sparrow, that will lessen. And my murderer sits the Iron Throne.

Murderer. [There's a lot to unpack in what she's been told, but that's what catches Girl's attention front and center.] You died?

Yes, almost a year ago. I've--mostly gotten used to it.
