t w o . ( TEXT ) . we stood up, we stood up

General Notice:

I'm looking for people with powers to run some tests on. It involves being observed using your abilities, but that's it. Can't exactly give you much for it, unless you need an alarm system.

First wave of testing will take place in a week near the colosseum. There may be second or third waves in future. Testing is expected to take several hours overall.

Any questions?
glacius: (Peering.)

Is this power innate, natural, or was it something that was granted to you by outside forces? If the latter, it is possible that being displaced from your world severed your connection to the source... or that the gods are interfering, for some unknown reason.
glacius: (Regarding you.)

[That doesn't necessarily answer his question, but it's really not in his nature to dig or pry unless he really don't trust the person. Instead, he's simply curious.] Your powers sound like they work very differently from mine... but that is not surprising, given that just about all of the humans I met have their abilities gifted to them by some force or entity. So you want to... what... emulate the way others access or utilize theirs?
glacius: (I'm not sure I understand.)

[A weapon that absorbs fire? Well, that sounds like something that would have been rather useful when he was fighting for his freedom during his first forced stay on earth. The ice alien takes a moment to relish the thought of his final opponent--a convict that had been reduced to a living blazing--having his own powers sapped away like that, and then he's back to the present.] I see. So you need to understand others' powers before you can understand how to best utilize your own. I've not heard of much like this before... and it is unfortunate that what would be most helpful for you may make others feel like they are falling under scrutiny.
glacius: (HMMMMMM.)

[Not that it can be seen given that they're conversing via text, but that addendum makes Glacius blink, like he's not sure how she made that transition.] I... that does not provide much incentive for me, and I'm not sure how wise it would be to make those sorts of things available to others, but. As long as you are careful about who you hand it out to?

[After everything he went through on earth--and after some of the things he's seen and heard of here--he's still not convinced that humanity isn't largely comprised of brutal, ruthless individuals; the last thing he wants is for the inhabitants of Hadriel to become armed somehow.] I am just saying--the people of this city managed to make a complete mess of things armed only with an abundance of alcohol and frustratingly loud music. I can't imagine how much worse things might get if random people had weapons.
glacius: (Huhwha?)

I could not sleep for days! And the city was a mess before Hope took it upon herself to atone for what she caused and cleaned up! If that is not "that bad", I would hate to see what you consider a problem.
glacius: (How exasperating.)

[Yes, there were. There were many, many shots for that. That was part of the problem--the poor alien ended up having to rely on them a little too heavily, and paid for it later! Anyways, while the suggestion that the only way to elicit concern would have been if people straight up died only makes the alien further question humanity's standards, he decides to just let it go for now. Giving a tiny, exasperated groan, he simply responds:] Yes, I suppose I should be grateful for that.
