hadriel | Video One: The Play's the Thing (backdated to August 12th)

First thing is, I don't know most of you and most of you don't know me, so Alice? This is Hadriel. Hadriel? This is Alice. Moving on.

Okay, I think we're all in agreement that the entertainment options around here? Suck. [she waves a hand] With the exception of the Speakeasy because who doesn't love booze? But anyway, entertainment!

We have no TVs. No movies. No internet. Not even books. [she rolls her eyes to show what she thinks about that option] But there's one thing we do have and that's people.

And what can you do with people, I can hear you all asking. And the answer to that is plays. Acting! And I even have an idea for the play: the history of Hadriel. 'Cause not all of us have been here five million years.

First act can be a drama, the story of when it was just you guys, Fear and Hope. Second act is a comedy, the weird shit that happened when the rest of the gods came back. Third act? The Null attack. Which will be a musical. And you can't talk me out of that one, so don't even bother trying.

So I'm looking for volunteers! Actors, stagehands, costumers, set painters, shit like that. So fucking volunteer. And those of you going out to sea, don't worry. It's gonna take some time to get things organized, so you can get in on this, too.

That's totally cool with me. Just so long as any portrayal inspired by me captures my sparkling personality, we're good.

Pop songs, mostly. I do acoustic covers of 'em. I'm better at vocals than anything though.

Oh, you might have missed me in my prime but you can ask pretty much any of the veterans of Hadriel. I was one of the most entertaining people in this place. Name's Rose. Nice to meet ya'.

I do sing. And sure, I'd be down for playing a role. Or maybe two, depending on what needs done.

Great! I'm kind of testing the waters, seeing who'd be interested at this point. Once all the people come back from their boats, I'll put up a video asking for volunteers to audition, so I'll know how many parts to write.

I made a shipping chart once. Basically outed all the couples in this place and put it all over the network. It's deleted now, but- I've been meaning to revamp it, actually. See if I can't help Love out a little bit.

[ Not that there's much of a dating pool to begin with. Still, saying that she's pretty low on the totem pole even here- Yikes. ]

Ehh, it's cool. It's not like I have people lining up to date me, either. Which is weird, I usually do.

[no, it seems as though everyone's already coupled up. which is frustrating for Jane as she defines herself by relationships]

[ Rose has always been a bit of a lone wolf, honestly, so being independent doesn't particularly bother her... But she does miss Faith sometimes still. While she knows the woman is no doubt safe and happy at home (according to Kate), it's still hard going all this without her. ]

I wouldn't be surprised if you find someone in time. It usually happens when you least expect it from what I've heard.

[she's at a bit of a loss without a relationship. she hasn't started any self-destructive behavior yet, but it's only a matter of time]

I'm sure not expecting, so the right person can come along any time now.

[ To that, Rose can only laugh. ]

Not sure that's exactly how it works but, hey, who knows! Guess we'll see what happens.

[she laughs along with her]
