[The weather wasn't the best, but Seel couldn't be there for his own son when he was hurt and needed him, the least he could do was be there for this child. He ran there, making sure he made enough noise when entering the temple so that she would know someone was there, and reached out a hand to her.]

[Abigail reaches out and slowly takes the offered hand.]

Are you okay? The storm seems really bad.

[Seel starts to draw her to him unless she starts to object.]

I'm fine. I've been through worse than this storm. I'm more concerned about you.

[it said something too that she was concerned about him, even after what she'd been through. What a sweet child.]

I'm okay now. I think. No one will have reason to kill me now.

[At least she hopes not. Dying was supposed to take away the bad in her.]

No one should have a reason to kill you in the first place.

Do you remember what happened?

He did.

[She nods sadly.]

Yeah, I remember all of it. I think I always will.

Who did? Who hurt you?

[Seel at least knew what she was talking about with that. He would always remember his death too. It wasn't something he wanted anyone else to have to live with.]

I'm sorry. Do you want to talk about it?
[Seel honestly still wasn't sure if he wanted to talk about his or not. So, he wouldn't blame her either way.]

He didn't do it to hurt me. He was helping. At least I think he was.

[She looks away for a moment, thinking it over. She'd been even more emotional then; she's not sure how much of it was really her choice.]

Sort of? I kind of feel like if I don't talk about it, I'll have nightmares. Or worse.

[Seel really didn't like where this was headed. He tried not to scowl at the girl, knowing she just died and it was traumatic, he didn't want to make it worse.]

Are they still around? Can they still hurt you? They were not helping.

[Seel nodded, listening and watching her.]

Tell me then. Would you like to come home with me? I can make you something hot.

[Hot things were good when upset right?]

He's not here. Not right here. He must be in Hadriel somewhere. I think he can kill anyone.

[It's hard to use the word hurt. He was supposed to make the hurt go away. She shakes her head.]

No, not anyone. Only people that are tainted. That's why he could kill me.

[She believes she is stained with sins from her past. It had made sense.]

Maybe we should wait? See if the storm lets up.

[There was only one man Seel knew of who could do that, who had almost done it to him. Which had really meant one thing to Seel. He wasn't getting laid. ]

Was his name Leo Flynn? Did he kill you?

[Seel was angry. Irritated. He really knew how to pick them. Leo had seemed so nice. Cute. Hot. Willing to screw him. And then had almost eaten his soul. And now he had killed a girl. ]

Whatever you wish.

Yes, that's him.

[Abigail takes a step back, nervously, picking up on the anger and her imagination runs wild. Does he know the bad things she's done to capture Leo's attention? The lives lost? Maybe he knows Leo and agrees with what he does.]

I don't want to die again.

[She's not alone anymore. It's no longer tempting.]

[Leo was in deep trouble. Not that he had any accounting to Seel, they had only met for a little while, and hadn't even had sex, but Seel still felt betrayed.]

You aren't going to die again. No one is going to hurt you. Do you live alone? Are you safe?

[Seel failed to save his own son, he wasn't going to fail in helping Abigail.]

[Abigail calms a little. She doesn't trust those promises exactly. Someone always hurts her. But the fact that he's said is enough to make her feel better.]

I live with Will Graham. I'm safe with him. This wouldn't have happened if I had been with him.

[Will always sees good in her. It keeps her from letting herself go to the darkest places in her mind.]

Do you know Will?

[Seel wished he had a nip of sheh with him. The girl deserved a drink after everything she'd been through.]

I don't know Will, but you can trust him? He wont hurt you?

[But you can bet Seel is going to look him up later, right after he sends a nasty text to Leo.]

[Abigail gives a small smile.]

Yes. He's saved my life, more than once. He's the one person I know would never want to hurt me.

[She was scared of Will once back home, but never here.]

You're sure about that? Absolutely positive?

[Seel is extremely tempted to take her home with him, and have this Will pick her up there. That way, they can meet. And Seel can suss him out. Sorry Abigail, you might not need a parent, but Seel is going to 'mom' you.]

People can save your life and still hurt you.

[Seel glances outside.] I dont think this storm is going to let up. And you certainly can't stay here forever.

[Abigail thinks for a moment. She thought her father wouldn't hurt her until he became the shrike. Even Hannibal told he'd cut her throat.]

I'm never absolutely positive about anyone. Not anymore. I'm as sure as I can be.

People can give you life and hurt you. People do all kinds of things. Someone could show up in a storm and hurt me. I can't hide away from people; being alone's worse. And Will's been good to me, even when I wasn't good to him.

[She peeks out.]

We could go from building to building.

[Seel pauses briefly to send two quick and rather nasty texts to one Will Graham and one Leo Flynn]

Good. Keep that in mind so you don't get hurt again. Anyone can kill you or worse. Be careful. Be safe.

[Seel watches the storm.] We could. You're going to get wet no matter what though. So which is it. Prolong the agony and hop from building to building or make a run for it?

[Seel was also starting to wonder what Abigail did. Or thought she did. He knew through experience that Leo couldn't take souls that weren't twisted with sin.]

You do realize that you fall into the category of anyone, don't you?

[She can't help being suspicious. Hannibal had a way of dropping subtle hints about his true nature, even before she realized he was a killer. Suspicion comes naturally now. She watches him for a moment, then looks outside again, taking a step back when thunder roars and lightning flashes.]

Building to building would give us breaks. And more chances for someone to find us and help.

Yes. Good. Don't blindly trust me. Don't blindly trust anyone.

[Seel knew what was out there. He'd been young and stupid once and walked right into a den of monsters. And now when he looked in the mirror he wasn't quite sure he wasn't one of them.]

Who do you think is going to find and help us? No one can stop the rain and the one person I knew who could teleport us is gone. The rain is wet, and uncomfortable, but not necessarily dangerous if we're careful.

[That sounds even more ominous. She takes another step back.]

The lightning is dangerous. Not being able to see clearly and the slippery streets will be dangerous too. The rain can't last forever, can it? Unless the gods have decided to flood the place and drown us.

[Which she could believe.]

Relax, I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to make sure you're safe. So what happened to my child doesn't happen to you.

[If only Seel knew just how much this 'little girl' could take care of herself.]

Anything is dangerous. Remember that. But if we go slow and keep our footing we should be okay. Lightning is dangerous. But worrying about it wont keep us from being struck. We can't control that. And no, it can't last forever, but it can last for days and neither of us wants to sleep here.

[looking at her, he asked softly.] I thought Leo could only kill and take a soul if they were tainted. What is it you think you did? [Seel had a very hard time believing she was capable of something that would taint her soul.]
