Video 3
[the video opens on Laura sitting on the edge of her bed, legs crossed at the knee. she's dressed and madeup in full eighties regalia, but her expression is more on the serious side than playful.
she's seen multiple posts about Caedra and has learned from their mistakes. so she's playing as nicely as she can]
Look, I get why people are so worried about Caedra going on a rampage and trying to kill a lot of people. It makes sense to be scared about that. But what if I had a way to keep her from being able to kill people in the first place?
[she holds up her right hand, a ring on her ring finger]
This ring keeps Caedra from being able to kill me. So I'm willing to let someone who knows about magic to study it and try to duplicate its magic so that other jewelry and trinkets can be enchanted with the same magic and passed out to everyone. That way, she wouldn't be able to kill anyone, even if she does decide to play nicely this time and not attack everyone.
I'm willing to turn the ring over to anyone who thinks they can figure out a way to use it to keep others safe. All I ask is that I get the ring back before she defrosts.

One from a guy, I think his name is Harlan?
At least that's what the contact info says.
The other is from an elf named Curufin.
And you'd think her "supporters" would feel secure enough to not fuck with anybody else's shit.
After all, she's not going to kill them.
Right~~~?

[Text]
I don't know what's worse.
That they know what she is and are going along with it.
Or that their brains have been fucked with and they can't tell right from wrong anymore.
I guess the first one's worse.
That one's a conscious choice.
[Text]
I'm not sure either, honestly. If they're just terrible people making the choice to support a monster, that's one thing easily dealt with. They threw in their lot with her, and they dug their graves.
But those traumatized and tormented into worshiping? Those controlled somehow by dark magics? That makes things complicated. We want to protect the victims, but if they're willing to fight for a demon our hands are somewhat tied.
[Text]
After all, Hope brings back everybody.
Even the ones he probably shouldn't.
I guess smacking some sense into them only works in the soaps.
[Text]
[Text]
But I'm not gonna wish that on anybody.
Dying's hard enough, but dying at the hands of someone who's probably enjoying every minute of it?
I can't think of much worse.
[Text]
[He's done it, before. He's the casual, smiling killer. He's made happy conversation while sending someone to the grave and enjoying every moment. But in this side, this human form, he can be disgusted at the idea of it. It's an odd situation to be in, holding onto humanity while keeping the monster at bay. And enjoying both parts of it.]
[Text] (cw: suicide, murder, drug mention, prostitution)
But most of the people here seem to be decent.
[she's seen her boyfriend shoot a man in the head and she was so high on cocaine, all she could do was laugh. she does know something about living a double life, though. in Twin Peaks, there were two Lauras, one being the town sweetheart, the other a cocaine-addicted good-time girl and prostitute]
[Text]
Now, all we have to do is keep her away from everyone else and we're set. If only it was that easy.
[She might not be speaking about those things aloud, but if she was she'd be preaching to the choir. Tyki is the double life king, murderer and monster on one hand, human and friend on the other. These two have a lot in common, even if they don't know it.]
[Text]
I was expecting wall to wall assholes, but most people seem to be actually decent.
It's weird.
I keep looking for the catch.
I guess the catch could be either the stupid gods, Caedra, or both.
[maybe one day, they'll trust each other enough to reveal their full selves]
[Text]
Probably both, unfortunately. I guess that's where the wall to wall assholes business comes into play.
Think they brought her here on purpose? Maybe it's not just that she's good for them, maybe they hand picked her.
[Text]
No kidding. Caedra and the gods combined make up a room full of assholes all by themselves.
I wouldn't be surprised at all. I think they have more control of the Door than they're willing to admit.
[Text]
I'm not one to spurn assistance, but it just seems a little too convenient that we're trapped by a mysterious door and the gods that are supposed to help us benefit from our emotions.
[Text]
It's way too convenient. And it seems like they pull people out of really shitty situations so that going home doesn't sound so hot.
[Text]
I'm suspicious. And I don't feel like it's foolishness to be wary of the situation. The first feelings I had in this place were intense ones, not because of my arrival but from what I was taken from. They fed well the moment I arrived.
[Text]
Oh, jeez. Mind if I ask what they took you from? If it's too personal, you can say so.
[Text]
No, it's not too personal. I was breaking into a church prison for a little rescue endeavor. I'd rather have been able to see it through than visit Hadriel. But we can't get everything we want in life.
[Text]
Thanks. It's nice of you to say that.
You're right, we can't. But if it helps, I know some people who left and came back. They said it was like they'd never left in the first place, so that rescue's still on.
[Text]
I'm glad to hear that. The boy I'm trying to rescue is important, I'd hate to see him waste away in a dungeon. If time here doesn't affect things back home, all should continue on as planned.
