she's seen multiple posts about Caedra and has learned from their mistakes. so she's playing as nicely as she can]

Look, I get why people are so worried about Caedra going on a rampage and trying to kill a lot of people. It makes sense to be scared about that. But what if I had a way to keep her from being able to kill people in the first place?

[she holds up her right hand, a ring on her ring finger]

This ring keeps Caedra from being able to kill me. So I'm willing to let someone who knows about magic to study it and try to duplicate its magic so that other jewelry and trinkets can be enchanted with the same magic and passed out to everyone. That way, she wouldn't be able to kill anyone, even if she does decide to play nicely this time and not attack everyone.

I'm willing to turn the ring over to anyone who thinks they can figure out a way to use it to keep others safe. All I ask is that I get the ring back before she defrosts.

He threw it to me right before I was about to be possessed or killed by BOB.
I don't know how it works, just that it does.
Caedra tried to kill me when we first met, but couldn't do it.

From the fact you said 'boxcar' I guess you mean it's something from home? I'd suggest the gods but that might involve a heavy price for just one or two rings. I'm not sure if they'd do anything after that. I could ask a few people if they know someone though.

Yeah, I figured the gods would make me jump through all kinds of hoops to get the ring duplicated.
That's why I'm offering it to people who know magic.
I figured they could figure out what kind of magic was used to make it, then repeat it on other stuff.
That way, everybody's safe.

The company who knows what Nate did is rarified for a reason, because he can't risk the information getting out to Caedra that he went to a temple and had the gods suck her invulnerability battery dry. He did it so shit like this wouldn't happen, and the stress in his voice is clear when he clarifies:]

I would be careful with that. Sometimes it's better to accept the death and let her spend herself; there are so many things worse than dying if she finds you're immune, I imagine.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at it, and I can ask my brother and my cousin if they'd like to be in on this as well. We're Elves, as you know. We know something about objects of power. I can't promise we'll be able to figure it out, since your ring is from another world and may be working on different principles. But if we can identify the spell and duplicate it, then I can make similar rings, as long as I can find the metals to work with.

But I'll take a number, if you have volunteers lined up around the block. [ Smile. ]

Okay, awesome. And I figured that just about anything could be enchanted with the same magic, it shouldn't have to be a ring. Random trinkets from the stores would work, just so long as it's small and easy to carry around.

Yeah, I'm really hoping that someone can figure this stuff out. But I'm willing to let anyone who thinks they can figure it out to give it a shot.

You have a point there. If the spell can be divined and replicated, then a pocket trinket would work just as well as a ring. And it would take a lot less time to produce the finished items!

She's a known demon and a killer. People support her, which means they've probably been compromised somehow. It screams out occult to me, sadly. Which is why I think whoever makes the rings might need support, in the end. It's a pity, but anyone who trusts that kind of person might not be safe anymore. To themselves or others.
