We need to move. Between the energy from the Door and other concerns, we can't stay here - it's far too dangerous. Thanks to your help, we believe it's possible to use the Door to move the city rather than Fear's powers. This should be substantially easier on you.

Going back underground is still unlikely to be safe. Of the planet surfaces that we've identified as safe, there are two remaining. Sorrow mentioned them before, but I will repeat the gist of what he said, for anyone who wasn't here before - or anyone who simply didn't pay attention.

One planet is rich and lush, with enough cover from the plants and trees that we should be able to effectively hide from the Null. It is warmer and more humid than this world, if you wish for a place with a climate more amenable to your bodies. It will also provide trees, animals, and edible plants.

The other is cold and mainly devoid of life. It would also be a change of climate, but a less amenable one, rather than more. It is the first planet the Null attacked, and where we had embassies. There may still be some information there, but I can't guarantee it. In addition, it may hold dangers we aren't aware of.

These are your choices. I apologize for being unable to offer you more, but it's unlikely that any of the locations we've traveled to in the past are safe any longer.

How long did your people meet the Null there before they attacked you?

It was when we were last there, yes.

And I would estimate we had met them on-and-off for about twenty years before they turned on us.

It's not impossible, I suppose, but that planet has been destroyed and abandoned for a very long time. There would be little point.

I certainly do not think the Null have the capability to create an army of the dead, nor would they want to.

Looks like there's one thing nobody's asked yet. Last time you said the other life on the jungle planet would help mask us. And that in theory the cold would too, but how do you plan to actually keep us alive on the ice planet without broadcasting a heat signature the Null could pick up?

There will be a heat signature, though we will be able to disguise it to a certain extent, thanks to Confusion. However, they are likely to find us eventually. As I said, if you wish to hide from the Null, the jungle planet is a safer choice.

No chance of going underground there, huh? Okay. At least we wouldn't be sending up a flare right away.

Could we do anything to speed the search along, if we wind up there? Splitting up searching for embassies the way we went to your old temples in the desert, or hunting for fragments here, is probably more dangerous if it's that cold. I'm just trying to weigh the risk.

We have, in fact, been underground on that planet before. It's likely the Null already know of that location.

And I can't be sure until we're there. I've never been there, and Tranquility has not been there since it was destroyed. I don't believe we can confidently make plans of that sort right now.

Huh. I'm not sure what that means for the likelihood of them finding us more quickly, but good to know.

How cold is the cold planet?

Colder than this one. If a human left the city without any protection, they would likely not survive for very long.

When you say 'leave the city' do you mean that the area of the city would be a different temperature in some way, or is the risk more based on the unavailability of shelter outside of it?

The unavailability of shelter. Naturally, the buildings will shelter the city from wind as well, so it will likely be a bit warmer than outside the city, but mainly I mean that so long as people stay within the city they will have access to shelter and clothing. I can guarantee nothing outside of the city.

I am sure that we can arrange something. However, you could also explain that to your friends - perhaps with that knowledge they can help, and perhaps they will choose the option that means less harm to you.
