We need to move. Between the energy from the Door and other concerns, we can't stay here - it's far too dangerous. Thanks to your help, we believe it's possible to use the Door to move the city rather than Fear's powers. This should be substantially easier on you.

Going back underground is still unlikely to be safe. Of the planet surfaces that we've identified as safe, there are two remaining. Sorrow mentioned them before, but I will repeat the gist of what he said, for anyone who wasn't here before - or anyone who simply didn't pay attention.

One planet is rich and lush, with enough cover from the plants and trees that we should be able to effectively hide from the Null. It is warmer and more humid than this world, if you wish for a place with a climate more amenable to your bodies. It will also provide trees, animals, and edible plants.

The other is cold and mainly devoid of life. It would also be a change of climate, but a less amenable one, rather than more. It is the first planet the Null attacked, and where we had embassies. There may still be some information there, but I can't guarantee it. In addition, it may hold dangers we aren't aware of.

These are your choices. I apologize for being unable to offer you more, but it's unlikely that any of the locations we've traveled to in the past are safe any longer.

I believe you are underestimating how draining the inescapable heat of a jungle can be.

I can see your priorities are in order. I'm surprised you did not think it as a way to keep you warm in a colder world.

Unfortunately, that's not feasible as a long-term solution, ah? The body is willing, the flesh is weak, and the Door keeps eating my partners.

[Okay, that might have been too much information even for Ianchus, but Carlisle is such a special case.]

...Though I suppose if we do end up there, I could always try to host another Bacchanalia.

...Besides, wouldn't the jungle be more conductive to reviving our little orchard? And your garden would fare better there as well, right?

My garden will be fine. I will ensure its survival myself, as I did when we were in the cave, and in the desert, and now here. As for the orchard, I doubt the deities will allow it to fully wither in the cold, given we are their food and one of them provided it in the first place. It seems it can only be fully destroyed by our own brash impulsiveness.

[He has some thoughts about the boats that cleared the park of trees, apparently.]

And in the case that we're brashly impulsive...we'll have an alternative, no? [For all he knows, the jungle may be full of venomous plants and snakes and insects and fruit that churns their stomachs but doesn't fill them, but...it's still better. At least in his opinion.]

But, in the case we do end up in the cold...you can always cuddle with me, Carlisle.
