[What's this, an actual video post from Rey?!
[Psyche. It's actually just the outside of the Speakeasy. Except that it's lit up. With actual lights. As in lights with electricity. Wow.]
"Got heat and power here for anyone trying to stay warm. We'll be limited on provisions and liquor for the time being, so we'd appreciate it if you don't stuff your face with all our shit.
"Working on the grid to get electricity sent to other parts of the city as well, so don't fuck with the windmills. Won't be much, but it'll be better than sitting in the dark, and who the hell knows how long we'll be on our own."
[It's a dreary thought she doesn't intend to linger on for very long. The feed then cuts out, and we're back to hearing Rey's usual terse voice over the audio line.]
"Will be making frequent trips, hunting and foraging for whatever's out there and getting a lay of the land. Saw what seems to be native wildlife, plus whatever Door creatures are left. Any fur and meat will be available at the Speakeasy as well."
[Because for someone who loves food as much as Rey does, she is one of the few who can last for prolonged periods on minimum to no sustenance at all. Until she's figured out how finite their resources are going to be, she intends to keep it that way.]
[ooc: A little more info here and here about the windmill and the setup at the Speakeasy!]

[ She'd offer to hunt or forage but that's really not what she's capable of. She's not a fighter, even when she tries, so she's trying to focus on what she can do. ]
audio
[Rey prefers curling up on piles of pillows, herself, but she doesn't sleep like a normal person as it is.]
Will need non-perishables the most. At least it looks like the water supply we've got is safe, but transport can be an issue -- and it's not like Tranquility's bikes are working right now. [Wonder why. Must be all the god crap that's inside of the mopeds.]
audio
I can bring over the non-perishables and blankets. I should just warn you that I picked up... an embarrassingly large amount of those huge packs of pop-tarts, all strawberry flavored. [ She grabbed other things, as well, taking full advantage of whatever the Door was spewing out at them. She's kept it mostly stocked away. ]
And have we considered a hose of some sort for the lake water? You know, how people steal gas out of cars? [ She doesn't know what it is, please don't judge. God, where's google when she needs it ]
audio
Pop Tarts...? Not sure what those are, but so long as they're palpable... Okay.
[They're most likely called something else by her time, or they have some future equivalent. It's amazing how some things change while others miraculously stay the same with time.
[She hesitates at what Sharon's suggesting, then blinks.] Oh, you mean like a siphon or something? Have a few ideas how to make that work. Might not be able to do much for our plumbing situation, but at least we have a reliable enough water supply.
audio
But, dude, Pop-tarts are awesome. Best toasted. They're just mass produced pastries with strawberry jam in the center. Disgustingly sweet but a nice pick me up.

Figured that'd be one of the best ways I could lend a land. This is basically home to me so I'm sure I can manage better than most.
voice;
[No, Rey. Bad Rey! Go back to that thought and revise your logic process.]
...
Don't really know what to expect on this planet, so it can't hurt to have some backup. [That's better.] Hope almost made it sound like this place was a lifeless frozen wasteland, but that's obviously not the case. Might find out more than he ever did since he had no idea what's in this place beyond the embassies.

Then consider yourself backed up. I won't need as much as a regular person would either in terms of, like, food or protection so hopefully that speeds things along.
I'd like to know more about what's out there, yeah. Whether it be cool creatures or just... something else. Embassies are neat and all, I wanna' learn more about the gods, but still. Priorities.
no subject
Same. Never needed much to maintain optimal energy -- just enough to keep going. [Even though she tends to eat voraciously, it's because of reasons. Rosie would understand.]
Think some had similar priorities. Besides, after being cooped up in caves and on islands, it'll be nice to go out and stretch the legs. [Without needing a boat to get to other places, that is.]
no subject
Yeah, I agree. I'm enjoying having my free reign again. Really took it for granted.

Tragic Video
eatsate ready-to-go non-perishables from the shops and whatever fruit he could get his hands on.]Once I get warmer clothes, I'd be happy to lend myself to hunting, at least.
In the meantime, I'd certainly appreciate the shelter. The cold pierces to the bones.
[perma-audio]
[Anyone can dispute the validity of such an idiom, though.]
But you're welcome here either way. Not going to expect anything in return from everyone.
[counter with perma-video]
He gives a smile to the blank screen at that second part, though.]
You truly are kind. Ah! The majority of my skill back home hedged on having money and having excellent sense of where to put it. A shame that I can't put it to use here. But I do have two good hands and a fairly strong back, if you ever need it.

[Both figuratively and literally, with Hope himself being MIA along with the rest of his kin for the time being.]
So that cushy lifestyle didn't turn you into a useless jelly? Good. Going to be making frequent outings for a whole, so we could use some help at the Speakeasy.
no subject
Ha! Now you've given me a goal to work for. I assure you, I'll surprise you!
And I assure you, the Speakeasy will be in good hands. [Hosting is a natural skill for him, after all.]

[Let him be your pocket healer, Rey.]
[audio]
[She pauses, knowing that asking Carlisle to accompany her is probably out of the question.]
You got any magical healing shit or something to take to the field?
no subject
[The slightest hesitation.]
Though if you did need me to come to you beyond the city's walls, I- you know I would, right?
[And that, given his general cowardice, probably says a lot for how much he cares about Rey's safety.]
no subject
[Though Rey knows Carlisle would push himself, if necessary. She never quite understood why, even if it's worked out in her favor more often than not.]
No worries, wouldn't ask that of you unless you really wanted to. [But she knows that Carlisle is more of a homebody than he is anything else.]
no subject
What I want is to help you, Miss Rey. In any way I can.
