I've made some relevant updates to the bestiary now that we're on a planet with local fauna.

[So here's an attachment with the updated version!]

At the moment, I've only heard tell of the mammoth things roaming around out there. All current notes are either based on secondhand accounts or pictures that have been sent to me. I'd like some real specimens to take a look at, if anyone's game.

Apparently there's other critters too, though they seem to be rare as I haven't encountered any myself. If anyone runs into anything alive on this planet, let me know and I'll add it.

[And Komaeda speaks quietly through the camera.] This is the only one I've found so far. One that seems to be still alive, that is. That's not to say that there won't be others around though.

Where is it? Are you saying youve found others but they havent been alive?

Well, I did see a few pieces of machine scattered about. Does that count?

Well, if you want, I'll happily show you. As I said, it's outside the city.

Oh my god sure whatever is gonna get you to actually give me some info.
I'm at the lab where are you?

How about I meet you outside the Speakeasy and I'll take you there?

[Just because it's easier to show the guy himself. He doesn't care how slow it takes. :)]

Ok fine whatever I'll be over in a few minutes.
The null had better be closer to the speakeasy than the lab given that you're making me trek across town in this crappy weather.

I've been out a while, I'm frozen solid and I need a drink to warm me up a little. Besides, it'll be easier if I just show you how to get there myself.

Ok ok I'm on my way just sit tight.

[And as promised, Newt shows up not too long after his text. He's freezing. At least the Speakeasy is warm...

But, also, he doesn't know who he's looking for, so he just takes a seat at the bar and hopes Komaeda will find him. Oh, wait, he does have a phone still.]

I'm here. Idk what you look like.

[And there is a soft voice coming from the table behind him.] I'll be the forgettable-looking nobody in the green coat. [Komaeda saw a guy walk in and sit down and when his phone notified him, he guessed it was this guy. Should Newt turn around, he will find a tall, pale and skinny-looking boy smiling at him]

[Newt probably wouldn't have heard the voice behind him if he hadn't been on alert already. He does turn, and actually, this kid is anything but forgettable. Who could forget that hair? It's like he walked straight out of an anime.

What a bizarre greeting, though. Newt cocks an eyebrow.]

Uh, hey. Good to meet you.

[He stands, eager to get going even though the heat is nice. He tries to keep his voice down when he speaks, since alerting random people to the presence of a Null in the city is probably not a good idea.]

So where's this Null?

[hoperulesdespairdrools]

[Well, he should have had enough now to feel a little warmer. So Komaeda stands up.] Nice to meet you too. I'll show you now. This way.

[And he just gets up and is on his way out already, wasting no time. Follow him?]

[Cool, he's glad that Komaeda is ready to go too. Newt follows him out of the Speakeasy.]

So how did you find this one?

Just by chance, I guess. I wanted to check out if there was anything outside the city.

This way.

[And he leads the way through the streets. Eventually they reach just outside the city. Komaeda points to what looks like a clump of rocks and......wait, is some of that wrecked machinery?]

It's over there. Very much alive.

[Newt follows in relative silence, hurrying along after Komaeda in an attempt to keep himself warm. This planet is terrible. He just hopes the crappy climate and the no-gods situation will be worth it in the end.

Finally, they make it to what looks like a rather unspectacular cluster of rocks, but there appears to be some metallic bits poking up at jagged angles. Huh, so the kid did find something. If nothing else, it'll be handy scrap material for the lab.]

Right. And how do you know it's alive?

Well okay, since it's a machine I guess I can't be 100% sure. I'm really not sure I want to test that out though in case it attacks. Even I'm not dumb enough to do that.

[Either way he sees no good hopeful reason to put himself in danger for the moment and stays a good distance away.]

[Newt's shoulders drop. It's a relief, sort of, but it also means Komaeda hasn't sold this correctly. Even if a living Null would be far riskier, the benefits would've outweighed the risk. He's sure that between himself and Alphys, they could've found a safe way to disconnect the Null from its hivemind. Hell, maybe even the gods could help with that. He's not above going to them for that sort of thing.

Once they get back, that is.]

I'm less worried about it attacking and more worried about it broadcasting our location to the rest of these things. We don't need that without the gods around.

[But if Newt's careful, he should be able to get a better look at the thing without potentially waking it up. He starts to creep in its direction.]

That would also be potentially dangerous. I mean, I'm not so important but you should be careful.

[He'll keep an eye out instead. Just in case a monster comes or they end up disturbing another nearby Null somewhere and they need to scram.]
