I've made some relevant updates to the bestiary now that we're on a planet with local fauna.

[So here's an attachment with the updated version!]

At the moment, I've only heard tell of the mammoth things roaming around out there. All current notes are either based on secondhand accounts or pictures that have been sent to me. I'd like some real specimens to take a look at, if anyone's game.

Apparently there's other critters too, though they seem to be rare as I haven't encountered any myself. If anyone runs into anything alive on this planet, let me know and I'll add it.

You hope he'll be back. If not, we're going to have to figure things out on our own. [ And she's of the genuine belief that, yes, having the gods would save them time but that they could figure it out with a few (maybe more than a few) sacrifices. ]

No theyll be back. It's not like they didn't know where we were going and Fear usually teleports the city himself anyway.
They have the means and the road map. They'll be around eventually.

There are reasons they might not be able to come to us. I'd prepare for the worst, you know?

Well clearly something's keeping em or else theyd be back by now so yeah I think it's fair to say we shouldn't take their absence lightly.
I'm just saying theyll figure it out and get back here when they can.
We're their food source so quantum leaping their assese back here will be like top priority.

Unless Sorrow fucked up in such a way the Door killed them or poofed them elsewhere. Or maybe the Null got to them. Or maybe they just don't have the power to get here.

I don't see a reality in which the Door obliterated the gods but teleported the rest of the city totally intact. We didnt even lose any people in the move.

[As far as he's aware, anyway.]

Look they'll find a way to catch up with us sooner or later. All of them being gone right now is actually good news. It probably means they're together and they'll be able to pool their resources.

Mistakes happen and maybe the Door doesn't work the same way with the gods as it does with 'lesser' beings. I'm not saying they're dead, though I hope they are, but don't give them more credit than they deserve.

If they were all together, don't you think Fear would have moved them here? It's why he was important and I'm certain he would have had enough energy to move just him and the others.

Look there are a million possibilities for what mightve happened.
The Door clearly has the power to teleport between universes. The gods' teleporting probably works differently so my bet is that the timing is a little off. That's all.
Clearly youre here to be pessimistic about it though.

I'm actually being optimistic about it. [ And, honestly, she can't bring herself to care if they all end up dead because of this. At least then it'll be over. ]

Yikes. Well we have vastly different definitions for what counts as optimism.
Why do you want the gods dead so bad?

The emotional torture. The fact that I don't believe they'll ever let us go because Sorrow won't until they find another viable source.

It's one thing to have no control over taking my emotions but it's another to force it out of me.

I mean I guess that's fair? But like for all the negative crap they impose upon us they provide a lot of stuff too.
Like yknow food. Heat. We're stuck in some post apocalyptic horror movie until they come back.
Dont get me wrong I'm not over the moon about this arrangement myself but having them around is our best shot of getting out of here.

You're really that dependent on them?

I mean, look, we're glorified farm animals. We're not even good enough to be house pets to them. Sure, sure, they feed and water us but they also require us to live and consistently find ways to hurt us. I don't know about you but I don't need them to live. Sure, it's gotten a little less comfortable since this started but humanity has crawled up out of worse.

Uhhh I'd rather be a farm animal thats due to get released back into the wild someday than a stray dog stuck in another dimension with no feasible way of making it home anytime soon?
Yeah sure we could probably figure out the Door ourselves given enough time but understanding something doesn't mean you can bend it to your will.
Not to mention that level of understanding will take like years. Working with the gods is gonna be a hell of a lot faster.

No but their word is the only word we have to go on. Do you trust the Null over them? That's like the only other option. Flying solo isn't going to get you very far around here.

Right? [ Her magical door number three is an absolute gamble, one she can't be certain will work, let alone work for anyone but her. But Sharon has no intention of leaving this place without finding some way to make sure both the Null and the gods pay for their wrongs.

Either way maybe you're bluffing or maybe youre not but I dont really care about your opinion if you're not going to back it up with some logic.

Then maybe we'll have to chat in person sometime. [ She's open to discussing certain things but she also knows how... radical the actions and thoughts she has are, which means treading carefully with people here, especially people she doesn't know too well.

Also, she's just bullheaded in her hate for the gods and sometimes thinks just killing the whole city would be a grand plan. So. Hmm. Girl needs help. ]

[Now that certainly piques Newt's curiosity. It takes him a minute to figure out what would be different between the network and in person but, oh yeah, the gods can read the network. Hm!]

[ Maybe it's a habit she's never broken or it's because she's never once entered the lab, she knocks on the door. She's not bundled too heavily, only a vibrant sweater and knit beanie to keep the chill out. ]

It's Sharon. [ You know, the girl that is very anti-god (in such a hypocritical way), anti-Null, anti-probably everything please don't mind her. ]

[Oh, he wasn't expecting her to head over right this second, but sure. It's not like he's up to anything of import. He rarely is, honestly.

He's still dicking around on the network on his phone when she arrives, but he stands to greet her and shoves his phone into his pocket. Or, well, stands to let her into the lab. Who knocks? It's a public building.]

Hey. Good to meet you. Come on in. It's, like, two degrees warmer in here than outside.
