I also wanted to um... I know there are like, some doctors and people with healing powers and whatever here, and I was hoping I could talk to one who might be willing to help out with something. So... Yeah.

Um... Sort of. It's a long story, but it's not like, life-threatening or anything.

I don't know, it's almost a little boring without the constant danger and paranoia of if my neighbor is going to attack me with a wooden spoon or not.

More or less. I took one good hit but overall I tried to help those that needed it. It's one thing to pit fighters and mages against one another but to set their rage on those that do not have the same skills? I couldn't idly stand back and watch.

[But he says it with a bit of a grin too; while he'd love to never be in danger ever again, he does get some people would be completely bored with a quiet life. Especially regarding hunting monsters when that's what you do with your life.

His grin fades when he notices the bandages, concerned.]

Yeah, it seemed... Totally random or something. So you were just like, stepping in to stop fights when you saw them?

[ she laughs. ] Yes, I jest. On the matter of wooden spoons anyway but I will continue culling down the numbers of monsters nearby if possible. My bestiary is coming along quite nicely.

I tried to stop them anyway. Not only to protect those that couldn't fight but to hopefully help those influenced by Rage from doing serious harm. Hurting an innocent, killing them... it's a guilt no one should have to carry because of some twisted game.

Yeah? Are you like, figuring out what types of monsters there are and how to fight them, or...?

[He's definitely interested in that idea; he'd talked to Sam previously about something like it, but he's not sure if that's what she's talking about.

Chris nods, seriously, understanding that sentiment and hoping she did a better job of intervening than he had.]

Yeah. I think um... I think a lot of people did--or tried to do--things they'd really regret normally.

Mm, that's the idea. Figuring out what is out there in those cave, their weaknesses and abilities. Anything to help us have a better chance here.

It's a hard thing to live with. Thankfully, many have friends to rely on here to help them through.

Right, they'll know how to fight it or no when to run if they spot certain signs. It's a big undertaking but I am hoping that it will help in the long run.

I just wish we could have more control over ourselves here. It is one thing to dampen your emotions but cut them off completely? It makes it a hard fight.

Yeah, I mean about all we can do is try to figure out when we're being like, influenced or whatever, but even knowing what's going on doesn't mean it's automatically possible to ignore it.

[He knows Emily had tried to resist the urge to attack someone during the assassin event, but even knowing it was irrational all she could really manage was to stall. And Emily is pretty strong willed.

He nods at her next words, smiling a little.]
