[Maketh doesn't look well, but she's putting forth a solid effort. She's got her hair up and a coat slung over her shoulder, half buttoned, to cover the mess of bandages. But her face is pale and strained. She's been injured and hasn't yet recovered.]

Hello, Hadriel. I hope you're all well, or at least -- recovering.

Recent events have made two things clear to me. First, that the gods will attempt to turn us against each other. And secondly, that they can influence our minds in ways far more direct that I had anticipated. A protocol must be created so this will not happen again.

[She takes a deep breath and winces.]

However, I don't have the proper training to make such a thing. So I am reaching out to everyone here. If you have ideas, I would like to hear them.

[There's a pause.]

Which part, gods or mind control? Or the ol' combo pack?

I might have, yeah. Don't even have to be a god to use that kinda influence over a person.

I've seen that as well. However, there were ways of defending against it - if you knew the right trick.

And we've gotta figure out these guy's before they try to get past the friend zone again.

[ a beat ] Usually takes beating them to the punch, because once they're in there--

The...what?

That would help as well. Even knowing how they're doing it in the first place might give us some clue.

Ah- nothin'.

Means we gotta find out more about the gods themselves, give us something to work with.

[She gives him a suspicious look.]

Burning their temples was suggested. Apparently it only annoys them.

[ Just gonna ignore that, yup. ]

Wouldn't really recommend that because, yeah- you're not doing 'em any actual damage in that case. Just doing a good job pissing 'em off, instead of cutting down their power source.

And so far all my ideas for attacking their power source have been too drastic to truly consider.

Never anything too drastic where gods're concerned. Their middle name is overdramatic.

[She's quiet for a moment, considering him.]

The tactical move is obvious. If your enemy is hungry, destroy their supplies. There are ways to prevent someone from feeling emotion and thus providing food to the gods.

[He ought to be smart enough to realize what she's implying.]

[ One can only hope he's intelligent enough to grasp what she's trying to get at. Let's see, here- ]

Doping everyone up on benzos might just make it easier for them to chew up our brains. Not something i've ever tried, though, not gonna lie.

Apparently not. Maketh sighs.]

I was thinking more along the lines of a medically induced coma.

[ Hey hey, he was close. Ish. ]

Interesting thought, i'll give you that much. Drinking the kool aid except, y'know, not as death inducing. But there's still the little problem of needing to wake up again. And not doing a thing to actually stop the gods.

I've considered that. We don't have the proper equipment or enough medical staff to sustain it long enough to actually starve them. [There's always lobotomies. But she's hoping it won't come to that.] Thus far, we only know that they can be killed. The proper means of doing so have not yet been revealed.

For the moment, I would settle for a protocol that would make it harder for them to influence our minds.
