voice; backdated to after the jump to Jungle Paradise Planet
[ It opens with a few long seconds of silence as Poe thinks over what he wants to say. ]
Should have brought this up sooner, but--things got away from me. Us, I guess, really. Me and Finn and Rey found a relay station about a week out from the city on foot back on the ice planet.
Tinkered around with things, and we found out not only could we track the positions of the Null in real time, we could upload info straight into their hivemind. Didn't mess with that too much. Kind of figured the risk of pulling them down on our heads wasn't worth it.
[ A pause. ] We found maps of three different galaxies. Two are null-infested. The third one's barely touched. Personally, I think running to where things are mostly clear will only delay things. It won't win this fight. It won't save the lives of the sentients who don't see the threat coming yet.
[ A longer pause. ] We're looking for ideas, thoughts on what we could upload into the Null systems. People who could make that kind of thing. Put me in front of something with wings and I can fix it, no problem, but programming isn't my bag.
So. Who's got something useful to say?

[There is a pause as he considers.]
Theoretically, I could possibly help. But then that would mean helping you and you understand why I wouldn't want to do that without incentive.

[ CAN YOU FEEL THE DISLIKE IN HIS DRAWL, HUX. ]
Is not dying not a good enough incentive?

[This is him being nice, just go with it.]
I have information about the Null and their technology, you need my help, Poe Dameron. Try asking nicely.
In civilized parts of the galaxy, the word 'please' is used.

But then there's a third, and then more, and louder, and they share a home and it's not like she can just ignore him shouting like that.
Well. She could, and would if it were someone else, but this is Poe. It warrants a check in, and so she goes to find him with her eyebrows raised high, a look more of curiosity than concern on her face.]

Do you know anyone with the skills to work with the technology? Particularly the Null hivemind?

[She pauses. Yeah, she figures some people will probably be outraged that they didn't share this information sooner, but-]
As for bringing it up now... If we'd publicly disclosed that we had direct access to the Null, the last thing we wanted was for some dumbass to storm the place and fuck with the communications hub just to bring the bastards raining down on us.
Now we have the option to send a few back to the last planet once we've got out shit together without putting everyone in the city in immediate jeopardy. [Is it right to make that decision for everyone? Probably not. But Rey's not sorry one bit.]

Engineering's more my bag, but do you have any images or anything a bit more concrete on what we'd be working with? Uploading programmes isn't quite one-size-fits-all, regardless of what Roland Emmerich wants us to think.

[He is so not serious. But Poe, darling, this is another man who is better at fixing things than programming.]
Do they have throats we can crush?

Super!

Apparently that might be an option.

I don't know much about uploading things [ or what the word means shh it's fine ] but this...relay station, it lets us...affect them remotely?

As far as I understand--being a recent arrival--they claim to have started doing this because they didn't want to become infested with emotion. If it were possible to overload them with emotion, that might blindside them.
Programming isn't exactly my best skill though.
[ If the hivemind were organic, she might think of drawing on their connection to the Force. But droids are a dead zone, and the hivemind is synthetic, so that seems unlikely. ]

...Pretty sure one of them was just being an ass, but it's still an idea.
