[It doesn't take long for Klaus to get to the Colosseum, his hands shoved in the pockets of his green army jacket, which he wears over a pink crop top and his usual pants, a pair of sandals shoved on his feet. Flopping back heavily against the wall, he waits until he sees a familiar form, lifts a hand to wave.]
[she flies over to the Colosseum and once she sees Klaus, she descends from the sky to land near him. she's wearing a white sundress and a pair of white sandals. both are absolutely pristine]
Yes, yes, coming! [she darts on over and smiles] Ready to go to one of Hadriel's few good points?
[And there she is, wearing a pristine white dress and perfectly clean sandals, and Klaus is dressed in a pair of beaded sandals and a pink crop top that already look a little grungy.
Lifting a hand, he pushes his fingers through his hair and tries to finger comb it a little - why's she gotta look so...presentable???]
Sweet. Tinya. Hi. Man, how do you always look like you just walked out of a commercial for laundry detergent?
Actually . . . that's not my power. That's this. [she points to a large gold ring on her right ring finger] My real power is this. [she turns her right arm intangible and puts it through a nearby tree] If you don't mind me asking . . . what's your power?
[she grins back and gestures for him to follow her]
It's this way. A bit of a walk, but it's a nice day out.
[When she shows off the ring, he leans over, eyes wide, mouth pursed into a little 'o' of shock.]
Ohhhhh, wow that's neat. So that makes you fly? And....wait...
[She just straight up puts her arm through a tree, and Klaus yelps, jumps back a little, brows raising intensely.]
Whoa, that's crazy. Completely crazy, so much cooler than mine, so much.
[A pause, and he bites at his lower lip before continuing on, walking with her, lifting his hands to self-consciously fiddle with Dave's dog tags.]
Yeah, it is nice out, isn't it?
[Just procrastinating. He needs to spit it out, but instead he continues to chew his lower lip and fiddle with the dog tags, and keeps doing it for a few solid minutes before he blurts it out.]
Uh-huh. One of my teammates had a little lab accident and he kind of turned a metal lighter than air. So we can all fly!
[and she removes the arm from the tree, no worse for wear. and, wow, she wasn't expecting such a strong reaction!]
Really? On my planet, everyone can do it. [she winks] I'm just a little better than most.
[she notices him fussing with the tags and assumes there's a story behind them, but also assumes that if he wants to share it, he will]
Compared to the last planet we were on, this is almost paradise. With a little too much humidity.
[his continuing to fuss with the tags makes her a little more concerned. she's weighing over the most diplomatic ways to ask about them when he blurts his power out
whatever she may have been expecting him to say, it wasn't that]
Oh. Oh, wow. Really? Is that--is it scary? Or mostly sad?
[In all honesty, at least the first bit of the intense reaction was because the only people he's used to seeing phase through things are ghosts, and it makes the hair at the back of his neck stand up. But she's not a ghost, he knows that much, so after he mentally calibrates with that, it's just cool. He wishes that was his power.]
Wow. That's cool, seriously.
[A little smile, and his brows go up.]
Wait, wait, you're an alien? That's also cool.
[No sign of disbelief or anything from him, at least.]
I'll be honest, I hate the jungle, like, I had enough of it to last me a whole lifetime, believe me.
[He waves a hand, and then sobers up a little as she asks if it's scary or sad to see dead people, and for just a second he feels a bit overwhelmed because most people don't really think of that part. Chewing his lip, he glances down at his feet while he keeps walking.]
I mean...it goes back and forth. Mostly scary, really scary. They're so angry and they look like they did when they died, injuries and blood and all. Sometimes it's sad too, once I get sorta...accustomed to it, get over the shock or whatever.
[When she says 'thank you' in such a bright tone, he gives her a little salute, smiling a sort of soft smile.]
Alien. Wow, there are really all sorts of people in this place, it's kinda crazy. I'm used to being the only weird one with powers. Besides my siblings, I mean.
[A shrug, and when she asks if he's spent time in jungles, his voice goes soft, a little distant, while he looks into the middle distance, not really looking at anything.]
Yeah...I was in a war in the jungle. A really bad war.
[Biting his lower lip, he lifts a hand and closes it around the dog tags he still has around his neck. Feels the clawing urge for drugs to just get away from how he's feeling.]
And uh...yeah. Haha, now that you mention it, that's exactly why I want to find the pot.
Yeah, adopted siblings. We grew up together and stuff.
[A shrug, and he glances at the jungle, works his tongue inside his mouth thoughtfully.]
A little. Mostly I just stay out of the jungle and I'm okay, but man, I was really liking being home in the US where there were no...jungle gnats or whatever. And sweat.
[When she reaches out to squeeze his shoulder, he must smiles at her.]
Awesome. Because I am in no shape to be babysitting a first-timer.
[she tries to be kind to everyone she meets. but she reserves a special level of kindness for those who seem to need it, like Klaus]
Oh wow. I can't imagine anything like that. Adoption, I mean. On Bgztl, bloodlines were everything. Traced back thousands of generations.
[she watches him calmly, figuring that either he'll feel comfortable with disclosing more or he won't. it's rude to pry. unless she's considering him as a possible mate which as a Terran, is unlikely]
I would like to be far away from the jungle gnats. And the jungle mosquitoes. I've had to build a whole mosquito net the size of a queen sized bed. It was neither easy or fun.
[she smiles back warmly and happily]
I am by no means a first timer. Don't worry about me.

Is he going to take both?
...absolutely.]
see u there.
[It doesn't take long for Klaus to get to the Colosseum, his hands shoved in the pockets of his green army jacket, which he wears over a pink crop top and his usual pants, a pair of sandals shoved on his feet. Oh hey! Over here.

[It's a compliment, really.]

and it's okay if he looks a little grungy, most people do around here]
Hi, Klaus! It's probably because I fly most places. Fewer chances of getting grass stains. Ready to go?
[don't worry, she took it as one]
no subject
You can fly? Oh man, that's so cool. I wish that was my power instead of the lame one I got.
[Grinning, he shoves his hands in the pockets of his sleeveless army jacket.]
Yeah, sure. Ready.

I see dead people.
I can html, promise! (sobs)

Wow. That's cool, seriously.

than you! :)
Thank you!
[she smiles brightly]
Technically, half alien. My mother is Bgztlian. That's where I get my powers from. My father is a Terran, though.
[she's not surprised by the lack of surprise. this place has a way of making even the strangest things seem normal]
Oh, wow. Really? You've spent some time in jungles before?
[she gives him a concerned look as he chews at his lip. she didn't mean to upset him or bring up subjects he'd rather avoid]
That sounds like it would be so hard to deal with. I'm sorry that you have to--to live with that. Is there any way to. . . make it stop?
no subject

It is a little crazy, isn't it? But you have siblings and they have powers, too?
[she gives him a concerned, gentle look at that, followed by his next words]
I'm sorry. This place must bring back bad memories.
[she slowly and obviously reaches a hand over to squeeze his shoulder. he can duck out of the way at any time]
Well, we're almost there. I'll have some, too. [she offers a wink] It won't be my first time.
no subject
Yeah, adopted siblings. We grew up together and stuff.
