Hello- everyone. Whatever we are.

My name is Doctor Bruce Banner. I'm- [not that kind of doctor, actually, but not going to overcomplicate this with semantics when the reality is he's perfectly capable.] -collecting medical supplies, and a record of who here knows what amount of first aid.

If any of you have any untreated injuries that you'd like to be seen, please let me know.

And a message, for going forward. One of the serious issues that we're going to have with this place will be dealing with the possibility of infection. Individually tailored cocktails of antibiotics are just not a reality right now. The supply of ointment is low.

That means that when you get cut, you need to take it seriously and you need to treat it immediately. Use soap, and warm water, and scrub your cuts. I know it's painful, if it isn't painful you're doing it wrong, but you need to take a soft clean cloth or a soft-bristled medical brush or sponge, and you need to scrub, with soap, under as steady a stream of hot clean water as you can get your hands on. Especially if there was dirt in the cut, or if you were bitten by some kind of animal. Obviously wash your hands as well before dressing a wound. So, that's the bad news, I guess?

If you're interested in helping, or learning to help at all, I have a building with electricity that I'm trying to clean and disinfect to the point where it will serve as a makeshift clinic until we can all get out of here.

Yes, he mentioned you. It's nice to meet you, Adam. I'll be happy to teach you anything I can, no exchange needed at all; once you have the skills and are using them, that'll be a good service in and of itself.

I'd like to meet up, but I don't know how to give landmarks.

[Makes sense. It would take the pressure of having to tend to everyone off Bruce, at least, if someone else were at least a little trained.]

Yeah, this place is weird. Is your building near anything big, like one of the temples or the park? I might be able to find you that way. I have a few medical supplies, too - bandages and things.

It's at the edge of the big park closest to the building most of us arrived in.

We should make road signs or something.

I think I can probably find it, then, or at least the right area. I guess whatever was here before us didn't need road signs.

When do you want me to come by?

Now, if you're alright with it. I'll come wait outside.

Sure.

[It'll get his mind off the unpleasant things that have been happening, at least.]

I'll head right over.

[Bruce nods, disconnects, and heads outside to try to catch sight of him to flag him down.]

[He takes about half of what few medical supplies he has with him. It's a show of good faith, really, and if it turns out poorly Adam has no intention of losing everything he has. He still needs to take care of his friends, after all.

The general area isn't hard to find, and as Adam gets close, he looks around for anyone who might look like the man in the video. It's been a rough week. Adam himself - slender and not particularly imposing at the best of times - has a purpling bruise on his cheekbone, another on his wrist, and he moves with the care of someone who's got a few more bruises hidden away.]

[Bruce waves. He's the opposite, really- he's of medium height, sturdily built and a little reserved in how he holds himself, in how he lifts his arm to catch Adam's attention. He isn't hurt; he has been so, so fucking careful not to get hurt. A bad encounter right now could set him off in a big way, and that just isn't safe to even contemplate, so Bruce has been tucking himself away. There are no bruises, just a wince, and a worried glance, as he jogs up.]

I hope you're not hurt too badly.

Just bruises. Maybe a cracked rib, but it'll heal on its own.

[He's a bit - evasive, really, when he says that, as if it's nothing, and he doesn't really leave the discussion open for follow-up questions. Really, there's no reason to be evasive, they've all been experiencing similar things, but Adam spent too many years hiding his bruises to be able to ignore his knee-jerk instinct to avoid the subject,

He holds out a hand to shake.]

It's good to meet you, sir. I brought a few things you might be able to use.

[He shakes his hand, firmly, with a quick shake of his head and a laugh at the 'sir-' not necessary, really, if he doesn't want, though he doesn't specifically tell him he can't use it.]

I really appreciate that. Here, come on in.

[Adam is wary and careful and almost always polite with strangers. It might sound a little less odd if he were using his natural accent - a drawl, all trailer park Virginia hick - but he never does if he can help it. Sir and ma'am are natural to him.]

Thanks. It's not much - just a few bandages and things. You set this place up yourself?

[He goes in, wary still. You never know who you can trust.]

People have been helpful.

[He affirms, with a polite shrug.]

I did a lot of it, but there are bodies around for the heavy lifting.

[He slides the backpack off his shoulder, setting it down and opening it up to pull out what he brought. It's all the sort of things you could find in the pharmacy aisle of a big supermarket - bandages, some antibiotic gel, painkillers, nothing particularly fancy or hard to find. It's all still packaged up, too. It looks like Adam looted a supermarket, because that's basically what he did.]

These might not be much help, but you can have them. It's more than worth it if you'll teach me some things.

[He looks around.]

And I'll help out here, if you need me. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.

Desperately.

[He admits.]

Right now I'm working on just cleaning; we need to get really deep in all this, get it as close to sterile as possible.

That should be easy enough. Anyway, it seems like most of these buildings were fairly clean before we were brought here.

[Adam sets his bag down, off to the side, where he can get to it easily if he needs to.]

Have you been able to find any cleaning supplies? There was soap in one of the stores.

Some, but keeping them supplied is going to be a challenge, especially if this place actually begins to see people.

[He glances around.]

I don't know what kind of demand there'll be.

None of us do yet, though I'd guess quite a bit. Those things we've been seeing - the fears - they can hurt people. And the bears, before.

[Adam learned that firsthand. Not the bears, luckily, but the rest.]

Are you actually a doctor, or just someone with some training?

[He doesn't mean the question to be rude, but - well, you never know what sort of places people come from.]

I have a PhD in physics, but I study the effect of radiation on the human body, and I've spent the last few years working as a field medic.

[So like, yes and no.]

Brain surgery, I will stay away from. Stitches, on the other hand-

[At least he has a doctorate. That relieves some of Adam's uncertainty, at least.]

I had to do some stitches on someone not so long ago. I'd like to learn, so I can do a better job next time.

[A faint, almost-smile.]

We'll just have to hope no one needs brain surgery.

[He nods, and moves to begin showing him around.]

So here's the first aid supplies- this is what I expect to see the most of; cuts and scrapes bigger than people want to see to themselves. Stab wound here and there.

I'm considering the feasibility of a blood clinic, but right now-

It would be a big project, and there's no way to know how useful it would be. Some of the people here might not even be human.

[Having met a few nonhumans before, Adam is open to the possibility of more.]

Supposedly one of those gods said they'd bring people back if they die, but - I don't know. We'll see.

Really? My goodness.

It's quite a gamble to take, obviously, we should all be careful, but it'd also be- pardon me for saying so, but a hell of a safety net.

I don't know how much I believe anything they say, but I was - somewhere, before this, and they brought people back to life as well.

[Well, they cloned them and inserted their consciousnesses, which is different, but still.]

But there are plenty of awful things that can happen to people short of dying.

What do you mean, they brought people back to life as well?

[He says, pausing them there.]
