[video] as sun tzu once said, light 'em up
There are a bunch of new people around, so...hey, I'm Nate.
[ It's been a while since he posted to the network, but things are starting to get sticky - and not even in the comparatively fun, sweaty jungle way - around these parts and tension feels like it's ramping higher. Crackling in the air. It makes the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He's not in the city, as evidenced by the dense, green foliage at his back. His sketchbook is out, open, but he's talking with both his hands. ]
I realize we're kind of running the gauntlet right now in terms of what's being thrown at us, and we're basically getting ready for an inevitable showdown, and there are already a lot of efforts being made toward preparing.
[ Sonya - a woman he doesn't know - was proposing escape routes and manageable cover strategies for civilian types. It's a good idea to have those routes mapped sooner rather than later. ]
But I've spent a lot of time since we got here getting to know this landscape, the topography. What I'm looking for are people with actual combat experience, whether that's strategic, logistical, or something similar. Fight's gonna come to us whether we want it to or not, and weaponizing the environment is one of the best chances we have at mitigating the risks. Guerrilla warfare isn't pretty, but we have the resources for it.
[ For a moment he looks distracted, thinking of something, writing it down and talking over the act as he does so. ]
So just, um. Call in if you've got the know-how. Thanks.

[ It's probably worth saying, so it seems less like Nate is a weirdo who pries into other people's personal lives. ]

Good things. Don't worry. [ Poe's middle name is Hype-Man. By now, Finn trusts him not to have dropped any deets that he'd rather not have out there. ] I used to take courses on different terrains. How people could use them. Ran a lot of battle sims on it.
[ They were mostly courses on how to get through the things people could set up to stop him, but uhh. Reverse engineering is just as good. He's done bolder things with less. ]
There's a lot you can do with a jungle planet. Depending on what's coming.

[ And they need all the help they can get. Nate sends over a file. ]
We're kind of at a low point geographically, which isn't great. We can try to funnel Null to the west, forcing them to be up against the cliffs. Any evacuation needs to happen to the northeast, the foothills. Use the river as a natural barricade.

Sounds about right. Is anyone on evacuation detail? The faster we get civilians moving when something happens, the better their chances are if we can't cut it. [ If most of the fighters get slaughtered, it should at least be useful for something. Even if that something is only an extra fifteen minutes for whoever's left. The math checks out. He doesn't really know who's organizing what parts of this city-wide effort. He's just here to hopefully not get slaughtered. ] Big battle makes a pretty good diversion.

[ Seeing as evacuation feels inevitable, Nate wants to get the word out as far as they can. ]
Battle makes a great diversion, but I can't tell if you're talking about a diversion for us, or a diversion for the Null.

Probably both. Depends on how it's going and how long it's been. [ The more they get whittled down, the bigger the chances they'll have no choice but to rush to cover something whether they know it's a distraction or not. ] But I'll like it better when we're the ones planning it. Whatever that's worth.
