Hello, Hadriel. Many of you have been patrolling and protecting the city on your own. It’s time to make that official. We have taken one of the unoccupied buildings to serve as a headquarters and would invite anyone and everyone who wishes to help to come and sign up. We are going to start patrolling on a schedule, with regular reports and check-ins. It appears that we’re going to be stuck here for a while, so we ought to do this right.
We are also looking for anyone willing to teach self-defense to the civilians. Speak to myself or Henry Percy if you are interested.

Did she now. [That has him raise his eyebrows. Yet Henry trusts Maketh implicitly. If she wants to make an ally of Nick, well, he won't argue without good cause.] Very well. 'Til then.

Surely enough, he does show up at the new headquarters in the afternoon, just as he said he would. He's a man of his word, even if he isn't exactly a man.]

Which is why Henry waits across from the front door, just offside the natural line of sight entering there provides. Not out of sight -- and certainly not hiding -- but potentially out of immediate sight for the inattentive. To see first, rather than be seen first.
There is no hostility in the choice; merely the method of martial mind.
Henry blinks when Nick enters. Nick has the shape of a man, the spirit of a man as far as Henry can tell. But he would be false to deny that right now, at the very start of their acquaintance, he finds Nick's appearance a little uncanny.
He does not stare, though, nor lend any unproportioned weight to the thought. Ultimately it does not matter, especially when Maketh has given Nick her confidence.
What he does is watch with keen eyes, and wait for Nick to engage him.]

On that, Henry gets points when Nick spots him and finds he doesn't seem to be making any snap judgments. He's watching, yeah, but watching is very different from glaring or scrutinizing. It's vastly preferable for one, especially when one gets a lot of the latter two.
He beelines for Henry, giving him a courteous nod. He'd offer him a handshake, but he's more or less dropped the custom over time, as some people find the very notion of shaking a bare, metal hand to be revolting. It reminds them what they're dealing with: a machine rather than a man.]

Me too. There's only so long people will be able to take being used like generators. And there's no telling when the Door will pull in someone these 'gods' can't handle.

Think you that a possibility? Surely it has some sort of limitation. [Henry sets his gauntleted hands on his hips, and shifts his weight as he cocks his head.] One must wonder what precisely the Door is to them.

The one who opened it initially is Fear, so he must know enough to do that much, but I'm betting he's no more helpful than the rest of them.
