Hey, listen up. I’ve got an idea.

[Evidently a very important one, judging by how soberly he’s speaking.]

Obviously we need things to do in between gettin’ set on fire and havin’ our heads messed with. So I was gonna set up a card table in the bar—could be poker, faro, anything if we can get enough players for it. If people like it, we could make it a regular thing.

If you don’t know how to play, I’ll teach you. And if anybody knows any other games, I’d like to see ‘em.

It should be easy to rotate people out. We can keep it organized with sign up sheets and using that for order.

What were you thinking of using for bets? There’s no use for currency, so is it possible to bet favors? Simple things like cooking, cleaning, and general errands.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why do we gotta be all formal about it? I figured we could just let anybody play if they showed up—if there’re too many, we’ll split off into two tables.

Favors could work. A kid I know had the idea of usin’ stories for bets, so it could just depend on who showed up. Only problem with all this stuff would be makin’ sure people could actually do what they promised, whether it’s tellin’ a good story or washin’ dishes.

[There’s always the threat of violence… but, damn it, Firo wants to do this for fun, not as work. He entertains the notion out loud in the hope that this guy may have a suggestion—he seems pretty organized.]

There could be a rule stated at the beginning that if you don’t make good on your favor whatever that may be, you don't get to play again. Simple as that.

I used to work with children. There isn't much of a difference with drinking adults playing games.

[His voice sounds a lot nicer than the comment which makes it oddly inoffensive.]

[It sounds so nice that even Firo’s incredibly thin skin takes a moment to register what he just said. The actual assessment itself he probably couldn’t disagree with if he really thought about—people are a pain. But with himself possibly lumped in there with the adult children? Rude.]
