[There's a skeleton on the network. He seems pretty unperturbed about his state of being, actually, and in fact looks rather cheerful, all things considered. He's got the camera lodged or propped up somewhere, because he's not carrying it. That would evidently require too much work. No, Sans has his bony hands shoved in his jacket pockets, addressing a point of space slightly to the left of his device.]

So that was pretty fun, huh? Not actually the weirdest thing that's ever happened me, believe it or not. I bet all that fog sure won't be...mist.

[He chuckles, and the lights in his eyesockets focus on the screen.]

Anyway. I've been around the block a few times, but I just figured I'd ask. Anyone seen another skeleton around? Tall, loud, likes saying "nyeh heh heh"? He's like me, but the opposite in every conceivable way.

Let me know.

[And the feed goes dark.]

Papyrus? Nah, he can't stand my jokes. Not very humerus for a skeleton, I guess.

[Well, this certainly is one way to wake up. He's not making much progress but he seems to be waking up a little bit more each joke.]

Papyrus, hmm? That shouldn't be too hard to remember. [From a guy that usually defaults to nicknames.] My niece's name is Road Kamelot. She'll rise rather easily into a good joke. Despite her age she is very child like. I suppose I should give you mine as well, friend. Tyki Mikk.

Name's Sans. I'll keep an eyesocket out for your niece then, just in case. But it sounds like neither of them are exactly subtle. Which is good, or I'd be in morning.

[That's probably too morbid a joke to make. But...eh, what's the point in amending it now? It's already been said.]

Oho, she'll be whining or complain. Her demands will be high and she'll be expecting more than she'll get.

[He doesn't mind morbid. But look, he's managed to lift his head into his arm. Sans will actually get an entire face now.] A pleasure to meet you, Sans.

[He waves a hand in lazy greeting.]

So you're a human, right?

Yes, I am. [Technically speaking he was classified as a Noah but they were generally humans with an awaken gene that set them apart as advanced. No one on his world that knew would call him human... except one.

Amused tone.] I take it you're not.

Nah, I'm a monster. Different species.

[Tyki looks human so close enough, right?]

[Yep, looks as human as a human can be at least for now.]

Sometimes, I think otherwise but that is besides the point. Skeletons are simply considered monsters then?

Pretty much. There's humans and there's monsters where I come from. Bit of variety to both.

Same with my world. Humans outnumber monsters and they don't exactly get along. Which is a shame considering how talents are often beneficial to each other.

Yeah, there was this whole war with ours. You deal with anything similar?

[That'd be interesting. How many variables potentially overlap?]

[He's trying to hide the grin that is threatening to crack into his smile.]

I'm in the middle of it right now. Humans versus monsters and those humans considered monsters that ally with monsters. In my opinion, monsters are likely winning.

Wow. Sounds familiar.

[Incredibly familiar. They've all got their constants. So what variables have changed?]

Whose side are you on?

[The grin finally cracks. He's been outed by several. No point in hiding. Besides, he's starting to like this skeleton.]

Not humans, Sans. In our war, I kill them especially if they are involved in it. They are the enemy.

[There's an edge to that smile. It's a familiar expression, though it's not one Sans totes out for just any reason. His expression remains placid. He simply nods.]

Won't pretend I don't get where you're comin' from.

[Though he carefully avoids passing judgment on either side.]

[Tyki's expressive and doesn't have much restraint unless someone is there to ground him. At least he's awake now. That smile will calm from the lack of momentum.]

But that doesn't matter here. There's no point in killing humans right now. They aren't from our worlds even if a handful of them still judge the same way. [Not that he's ever cared.] At least not the ones that aren't from my world.

No point in killing 'em at all.

[Ha. He says it with the faint air of a private joke, though he doesn't explain it.]

Anyway. Far as I can tell, most of 'em here are good people.

[Now that the conversation has woken him enough to rest his cheek into his hand he'll tilt his head in question at the way he says it.]

Most of them. One of them would kill me on sight if he saw me. One slip up from anyone else and they'll keep an eye on you.

Sounds like there's a story behind that.

[A subtle invitation for Tyki's side of the story, if you will.]

Enemies are enemies. A swordsman from home by the name of Kanda will actively attack me without discretion. Then again, I cannot say I wouldn't either. But as for the humans here I attacked a woman while under the influence of 'Rage' I believe. Given the situation without such an influence I likely would've only killed the swordsman she was fighting. I try not to hurt women in general. It matters not in any case. I have no need to prove myself of anything whether innocent or guilty.

But that is how some humans are. They see threats, or I should say dangerous people and creatures, as things that need to be killed or watched.

[Hmm. Sans considers the tale silently, digesting it. The influence of the gods is beyond helping, he's learned that much by now.]

Making those sorts of blanket statements is kinda contradictory, don'tcha think?

A little. After all, like you said, most of the humans are kind. [Even he had human friends in his other life he led.]

Good intentions. Noble ideas. Heroes. Some led astray by bad apples. Rotten to the core.

[Core. There's a joke in there, but...honestly, he doesn't want to reach that far. Too much effort.]

So it's your opinion that some people are just born bad?

[He's sitting up with a moment of modesty as he makes sure Sans doesn't get flashed. A thick long scar starts from his hip and goes all the way across in a diagonal to his shoulder. Just how many similarities do match, hmm?]

More or less. In my world all humans are born with the same gene. When it awakens you become one of 'us' and the Order that is aware of us labels us as an enemy instantly. It doesn't matter if they were your friend or not moments ago. They kill us and we kill them. Enemies. Simple as that.

Not all. Just some.

[Flesh-and-blood bodies seem awfully inconvenient. At least Sans doesn't wear reminders of his lost battles on his bones. Just, you know. In his little 1-HP SOUL.]

So you don't think that, say...even the worst person can change? That anyone can be a good person, if they just try?
