007 [Video] | Forward-dated slightly to morning on the 4th
[So, turns out Sorrow-induced insomnia combined with generally staying inside so as not to tell everyone in the whole world everything awful that you've ever done has an upside. It's great for getting things done, especially when that thing is something he feels guilty about not having finished sooner.
He hasn't actually figured out the event is over by the time he makes this post, having been awake all night, though he does feel a little bit better than before and so offers a small smile to start the whole thing off.]
Hey, um, everyone.
[And he pauses, because he probably should've thought this announcement out a little more, but whatever.]
So I uh, finished something less fun than emojis, but probably a little more practical? I mean, it'd be better if we had a GPS system [--come on guys you totally voted for the wrong god--] but we can always add that part into it later.
Basically, um, it's a program that lets you set up an emergency message and who you want to send it to, and then just hit one button to send it. So if you're like, in danger or hurt or something and can't type or call someone but can hit a button, someone'll at least know you need help and go looking for you.
[And hopefully that could help someone, even a little, whenever the next horrible thing happens here.]
If anyone needs help like, setting it up, just let me know and I can probably get it going for you. It should be pretty simple though, so don't worry if you're not like, super tech savvy.
[And attached is a download for the program, which installs simply enough and includes a customizable message and a list of people to send it to. Once set up, a button will appear on the lock screen of the phone, and hitting it is all that's needed to send a message; any future changes to the message or receiver list can still be made through the main app.]

I--I think I am, thank you. And yourself?
[Private]
[As to be expected in this place.]
[Private]
Did...did you still want to speak? In person, I mean.
[Private]
Yeah. Sure. If you um, still want to too.

[He's in serious need of more coffee anyway, so with another smile and small wave he cuts the feed. If she's at the Guard post then he's closer to the bar and will probably make it there first, and uses the time to set up espresso to brew.]
Action!
There's nothing wrong with coffee, though. Nothing at all.
She sees Chris already at a table, and smiles.] You're looking better.
[His color looks better, at least.]
no subject
Yeah, you too. Did you want um, regular coffee or something with espresso?
no subject
no subject
[Since he hadn't set up any regular coffee yet; he needs the extra kick from the espresso himself.
While it brews he leans back against the counter, not bothering to sit down when he'll just be getting up again in a few minutes. He closes his eyes for a moment, sighs, than looks at Maketh with a bit of a grin.]
I'm like, way too young to be tired after an all-nighter.
[He's totally getting old Maketh. He's nineteen and a half now, geez.]
no subject
[She's done her share of all nighters recently. They hurt more than they used to.]
How are the others doing?
no subject
[And a little surprised. It'd be warranted at this point.
He shrugs a little at the question about the others, turning to pour the coffee that's finishing up into a mug.]
Better now that the Sorrow thing's over.
[But that's about as much as he can say. Everything's been really hard on them lately, and he knows that him dying during everything that happened before the last event didn't help either.]
How about um, everyone at the Guard?
no subject
no subject
[That everyone's more or less okay and still a team.]
Um, what kind of ammo are you talking about?
[He brings the mug of coffee over and sets it in front of Maketh, along with cream and sugar to add if she wants, then takes his seat again and picks up his own coffee.]

I was uh, actually going to learn until Mike got here and he happened to have a gun. I figured a bow was the closest thing I'd get.
[But he had no illusions about being anywhere near as good at that as he is at shooting.]
If you need more bullets though, um... Rage trades for them. Lilith and I were on a run for more of them a few weeks ago, and we could get some for the Guard too. What kind of gun do you have?
[He's just going to ignore for the moment that there's no way his friends will let him go monster hunting again after what happened during his last encounter with a monster.]
no subject
[All of it horribly out of date, but it's all they have.]
I suppose we could arrange for archery lessons. Henry would know how, at least.
no subject
I didn't know there were any rifles here.
[Although he's a perfectly good shot with the revolver he has, he doesn't really like the weapon for several reasons. Rifles are way better in his opinion.]
But um, all the guns take different bullets, so we'd need to know exactly what kinds if we're going to get more.
[So that's a think to check up on. He nods a little at the suggestion about archery, not particularly confident, but it's definitely a good idea.]
That might be really helpful. I'd um, still probably like to learn if I don't totally suck at it. Em might too.
[And maybe Ashley or Josh; Ashley might have trouble using one though, and Chris still cringes at the idea of letting Josh near any sort of weapon for all sorts of reasons.]
no subject
[Maketh nods, picking up her coffee and inhaling the steam. Glorious caffeine.]
It couldn't hurt. Does your world still use such things?
no subject
Um, okay, totally different kind of rifle than I was thinking. Geez that'd be useful against monsters, I'm guessing.
[Unless he has his gun types completely messed up--his main experience is with video games, let's be real here--that is definitely not the type of hunting rifle he'd been shooting on the mountain.]
Not really. Not as like, weapons anyway; they're still used for sports though. I think my school had an archery team.
no subject
no subject
[But he's kind of afraid to try anything besides a gun or maybe a bow, which is honestly probably for the best. Chris is not the most coordinated or graceful person in the world.]
I mean, I'd never even shot a gun before um... Everything happened on the mountain.
no subject
no subject
[He offers a small smile, though the emotion behind it is mixed.]
Is that a good thing?
[He knows she probably means it in a good way, he's just really not sure if it is.]
