Not gonna begrudge anyone who wants to pander to over-inflated egos, but while we're stuck here we should be doing something useful to ensure everyone can survive.
- first-aid: Do you know it? Do you have a kit prepared for an emergency? Is there anyone here who has ACTUAL medical training?
- food & water: What's safe to consume? Has anyone encountered something that made them sick? Have we figured out how to safely use the apartment appliances just in case other people get trapped here?
- surroundings: Do we have a map of the area? Has anyone run into any other dangerous places besides the arena?
- defense: Are you capable of defending yourself if you're attacked? If not, I can at least help with that. If anyone else has any experience training personnel in combat, you should make yourselves available for people who need help.

[ Mundane first-aid, as it were. ]
I am attempting to make a map but it's been incredibly slow-going with the monsters. If there's a better way to get a bird's eye view beyond the spires, I'll be able to have a better indication of specific streets and side paths that can be used.

[that probably comes out rude as hell]
It might be better to get a scouting party together if we can scrape together enough people. Leaves us free to get a lay of the land while watching each other's backs.

I have not come across any food or drink as of yet that has resulted in sickness. It also must be said that I am unsure how to use most of the 'appliances,' as you call them, in the apartments. I am much more used to cooking over an open fire.
One thing I would add to this list of questions, if I may--has anyone kept a record of what sorts of beasts have shown up? I have heard of bears and have run into two strange types of creatures that were both dangerous. Keeping a record of what they look like and how they behave could only be helpful.

I know how to fashion crude weapons out of what's laying around, but nothing bigger than a knife. But if there's a gladiator arena out here, then that means there's gotta be weapons somewhere. Whoever was here before us obviously wasn't peaceful.
That's a good idea. Maybe you should start us off. Ask anyone else you've come across if they've seen anything else.
[john doesn't sign off on his text, sorry cullen]

The question is where are they now? The weapons and the people both.
I have only come across two types of creatures myself--the small ones with knives that hunted in packs and the ones that greeted us at the arena. I have also heard there are bears around, though I haven't seen anything to corroborate that myself.

Twice so far when new people have arrived there have been beasts that show up along with them. Once with my group which seems to be the first, and once again with the second group. It is my suggestion then that we keep careful watch on the coliseum - if a third group shows with monsters as well perhaps we can predict a pattern that follows and have a guard ready for when it occurs. Some can defend themselves, but there appears to be an equal number of those that can't. With a guard at the ready we can ensure their safety.

I agree. If we let anyone die in there, we're only losing out on potential bodies to strengthen ourselves as a whole. But can you find enough people to keep a dedicated watch on the arena? More people may not come through for days or weeks, if ever.

Oh, oh- me!
Pick me- I have actual medical training. There's even a snazzy little clinic here. Find me some red paint and I'll draw a big red cross on it for easy finding.
[The other bullet points on that list only drew a big IDK from him so.]
Or you can hope for the best and pander to the blond over-inflated ego and maybe, just maybe, we can get an actual hospital in here with real equipment and everything. But if anyone only wants to begrudge then who am I to tell them otherwise?

he's stubborn like that.]
Probably should advertise that to the people at large. Maybe put it out in a welcome note to newbies if we get anymore.
[he's nearing the river, maybe contemplating fishing. or going for a swim. who knew??]
I'm not sure I trust what the blond kid is selling enough to start...laying things on an altar for him. If his word's any good, then maybe I'll consider some pandering.

His paint suggestion isn't a bad one. I like the idea of painting the side of the building, and of painting directional arrows on the ground of some of the main streets. Maybe a 'follow this line' directly from the doors of the colosseum, in the event that people continue to arrive from that point.
On that subject, I know that you can't trace two data points to make a pattern, but I want to keep a close eye on that space and see if more rushes of arrivals show up there, or if the timing between waves is in any sense predictable. The only problem is, I have nothing like any kind of timekeeping piece, I don't think, so I'm not actually sure how long it's been since we arrived- obviously we can't go by the sun here.

I have a watch. It's still spinning, but since we can't rely on any celestial bodies to back-up if it's noon or midnight, I don't know how much help it'll ultimately be.
