[Chris smiles and gives a small wave at the camera when the feed starts, then turns his hand to show Hope's blessing on the back of it.]

So uh, who else got one? And are they all from Hope, or...?

[This is so cool you guys he wants to see who else got what. And for something else slightly less important by still cool--]

Oh, also, my iPhone was up and working for a bit thanks to Pell, and I managed to get some music off it. I'll share on the condition no one makes fun of my taste.

[The last comment is a joke--he's really not going to be too hurt by jabs about his choice in music--but the offer is serious, and attached is a download of the music he's copied off so far. It's kind of a slow process, so there's still more on the phone that he can transfer later.]

God's blessing, eh... [He mulls that over for a moment, looking serious for a moment before breaking out into a bright smile.]

Say! Did you happen to find a glowing marble, with a note attached saying to crush it? And then something strange happened? [It's vague, but he doesn't really know how else to describe it.]

Yeah, that's exactly what happened. I only knew what it was since I've seen other people with it.

[Fortunately, or he'd be totally lost.]

I see! From Hope, you say? Can I ask what it does? I'm not sure what it did to me, but it sure did something. Felt all funny, you know?

[He's got heightened intuition from Sorrow, but that's not exactly something easy to pin down right away.]

Do you not have like, a mark somewhere?

[Chris is no expert at the god blessings so who knows, maybe not all of them cause a visible mark.]

I um, know Hope's blessing give you healing powers, but that's about all.

[He's asking people for details, though.]

[Elmer looks at his palms, then the back of his hands, then either arm. With no mark in sight, he shrugs, grinning.]

Nothing obvious, anyway! Though I suppose I can conduct a more thorough search off-camera later.

[He cocks his head, thinking.] Healing powers? I don't think that's it. I already sort of have something like that already. But I would have to test it out to be sure, eh?

[Huh, that's interesting.]

You already have healing powers? That's uh, pretty awesome.

It's basically the same. I'm immortal, so any injuries I get heal up in a matter of moments.

[Okay, so it's a little more than just healing.]

Maybe I just can't tell because it's just normal for me already? Ah well. Maybe it's nothing. I was never a believer in gods anyway.

[Still smiling, he shrugs.]

[Okay, he's heard of people here having healing powers and even knows a few people who do, but that's a little beyond what he's expecting.]

You're immortal? Is that like... Normal, in your world, or...?

[He's so curious.]

Well if it was Hope's you'd probably have the same mark I do, so you uh, probably got a different power. And um... Neither am I, but I don't think it matters here too much whether they're gods or something else.

[When it comes down to it, the title doesn't make much of a difference.]

Oh, not at all. There's not too many of us. Maybe a dozen, give or take a few. [And there's even a way to wipe them from existence, so there's been less and less of them over the years. But let's not talk about that.]

Well, hopefully I'll figure out what it is sooner or later! I'd hate to let a nifty super power go to waste. Something like the ability to fly would be great. Oh! Or maybe something like pyrokinesis!

Oh. How does um... How does that happen? If you want to answer.

[It's okay if he doesn't; Chris is interested but not at the expense of anyone's feelings.]

Both of those would be pretty awesome, yeah. A few people here have pyrokinesis but I haven't met anyone that can fly yet.

I met a bloke here who flies. Strange looking, kind of hard to miss, but I never got his name. Thought maybe someone like him might be the key to finding a way out of here.

[As far as that question, Elmer does answer like it's the most normal thing in the world:]

Well, once upon a time, I was an alchemist of sorts, and I had a friend who summoned a demon and he granted it to us. That's pretty much it. Pretty crazy, right?

Huh. Weird.

[But interesting; he will keep that in mind. And okay, wait, what?]

You summoned a demon?

[Yeah, sounds pretty crazy, even to Chris.]

Yep. Turns out demons aren't as bad as you think they are. Or at least this one wasn't. I wouldn't say things went perfectly, but we got what we asked for, didn't we? And he didn't even eat our souls or whatever it is demons might do.

[Wow, what do you even say to that?]

So he just like, gave you immortality for free?

[He looks a little sheepish for a moment.] Weeeeeell, there are some, shall we say, stipulations? Which I won't get into. But rest assured it's not a perfect thing. But here I am, over 300 years old and still around to tell the tale.

[He's definitely curious on the stipulations, but if Elmer doesn't want to talk about them he won't push.]

I uh, can't even imagine. I'd just turned nineteen when I got here.
