[Chris smiles and gives a small wave at the camera when the feed starts, then turns his hand to show Hope's blessing on the back of it.]

So uh, who else got one? And are they all from Hope, or...?

[This is so cool you guys he wants to see who else got what. And for something else slightly less important by still cool--]

Oh, also, my iPhone was up and working for a bit thanks to Pell, and I managed to get some music off it. I'll share on the condition no one makes fun of my taste.

[The last comment is a joke--he's really not going to be too hurt by jabs about his choice in music--but the offer is serious, and attached is a download of the music he's copied off so far. It's kind of a slow process, so there's still more on the phone that he can transfer later.]

I guess so, yeah. I didn't do a whole lot but I did kill one of the uh... Horrible gelatinous darkness monsters that showed up when I first got here so I could get some bullets from Rage. I guess that was enough?

[He's surprised but not complaining.]

Maybe it was randomized.

[Either way, Sans did jack squat, so he's not surprised he has nothing to show for it.]

Well, congrats. Any idea what it does?

And thanks. It's uh, a healing power of some sort. I don't know a whole lot about how it works beyond that, though.

[But he's asking around, and any sort of healing is better than none.]

[That's a glint of interest of Sans's eyesockets, if a muted one.]

Looks like plenty of other people have got 'em too, from all the different gods.

Yeah, I'm really interested to see what they all do and how they work.

They only show up on skin? 'Cause that might be a problem.

[He arches a supraorbital ridge at one of his bony hands, though he doesn't comment any further. He can't see himself as a poster boy for any deities anyway.]

Huh, good point. Though um, since the gods are... Gods, and whatever, I think they'd just make it worth through magic somehow?

[Surely it wouldn't be that big an issue to make it just show up on Sans' bones instead of on skin.]

Probably. Sounds like you gotta do a lotta work to end up with those things anyway.

[And why would he do that when slacking off is free?]

You obligated to be at Hope's beck and call, or anything?

Yeah, I really lucked out. I'm not usually, you know, the monster-hunting type.

[A pause.]

The bad type of monster I mean, of course.

[Just making that clear. And about that last part...]

I uh, I don't think so. I better not be, anyway.

[Well, at least he caught himself. That's better than most humans.]

Not like the thing came with a list of terms and agreements, huh?

[He really tries not to be inconsiderate, though it is difficult when it comes to the monster thing since the same word can mean so many things.]

Even if they did, no one reads those anyway. You just scroll to the bottom and hit accept.

[That gets a laugh out of Sans, because it's so true. Who would ever read the whole thing of fine print? No one does.]

Got me there. Think the gods might have an FAQ or User's Manual lying around?

[He grins a little at the laugh.]

That'd be awesome. Maybe we could debug them or something.

[If they reboot Rage enough times she'll chill out?]

If only it were that simple.

[But there's a conversation going on above him that needs addressing. His smile gets a bit more serious, inasmuch as a perma-grin can grow marginally more grim.]

So, uh...I see you've met a friend of mine. Well, I say "friend". From my world, anyway.

[Yeah, he saw that comment Sans left for Chara, and he's definitely watching it.]

Yeah, uh, apparently. Is there um, more to that story?

[Because Sans definitely seems less humorous about this topic than Chris has ever seen him.]

Yeah, they kinda left out a few key details.

[He laughs, but it's dead hollow.]

Not that it's my place to really say, but it sure wasn't their place either. See, they kinda neglected to mention something kinda critical about my brother.

[Okay, there's obviously some sort of serious history here, and Chris hesitates a moment as he decides how to respond to that.]

You um, you don't have to tell me or anything, but I'm guessing that tone means you and Chara aren't exactly friends.

Conveniently didn't mention that my bro didn't "pass away". He was murdered.

[He's still smiling. It's got a hard edge.]

Killed by a human. Can you believe it?

[Okay, even more of a story here than he thought, and he's really not sure what to say except--]

Oh, wow, um... I'm really sorry.

[He doesn't have any siblings so he can't truly imagine losing one, but he saw what it did to Josh.]

Yeah. It was pretty messed up.

[It's clear that Chris really isn't all that comfortable with the direction this conversation is going in. Sans leans back, putting some distance between himself and the video screen.]

I guess some people here really mince their words, huh?

[He's definitely a little offguard and that makes him nervous, so he appreciates when Sans backs off just a little even if he understands why this would surely be a sensitive topic.]

Yeah. Uh... Apparently.

[He's reading between the lines here and isn't sure if he's drawing the right conclusion, but he's not about to ask more specifically.]

[Yeah. All right. Moving on.]

Anyway. Take care of yourself. 'Cause some people might just turn around and stab you in the back.

[That's not a threat. Sans isn't the one Chris should be worried about, as far as he's concerned. It's a warning.]

[Chris can't really imagine Sans being the dangerous one so he takes it as the warning it's meant to be, though he's definitely going to watching the conversation between Sans and Chara carefully.]

Um... Noted. Be careful too, okay?

[With whatever is going on.]
