[Chris smiles and gives a small wave at the camera when the feed starts, then turns his hand to show Hope's blessing on the back of it.]

So uh, who else got one? And are they all from Hope, or...?

[This is so cool you guys he wants to see who else got what. And for something else slightly less important by still cool--]

Oh, also, my iPhone was up and working for a bit thanks to Pell, and I managed to get some music off it. I'll share on the condition no one makes fun of my taste.

[The last comment is a joke--he's really not going to be too hurt by jabs about his choice in music--but the offer is serious, and attached is a download of the music he's copied off so far. It's kind of a slow process, so there's still more on the phone that he can transfer later.]

No, I've got some friends here too. There were more that were here before, but they've left.

How about you?

A few. From different times. That is hard to get used to.

Yeah. Some of my friends are from different times; it's um... Definitely weird.

[Most of them are from the same night, but considering everything that happened a few hours can be an enormous difference. And then there's Hannah.]

They say people can get used to anything, I never thought we'd be testing that.

Yeah. I've um, heard that a few times here, actually.

[But when he stops to think about it everything is still so strange.]

I mean, I never thought I'd get used to living in a cave full of monsters, but I guess I was wrong there.

[ Wanda huffs a laugh. ]

I never thought I would be living in a cave full of monsters. I'm sorry you have been trapped here for so long.

Well, okay, true.

[There's some humor in his tone; it's a good point. Then again, the night before he'd gotten here he was introduced to the whole idea of a cave full of monsters, so maybe it just wasn't as much of a shock when he arrived here.]

And um, thanks. I mean, a lot of it's sucked--some of it's really sucked--but other times it isn't so bad here.

Like when there's music.

[ She reflects the humor in his voice. It carries, spreads. Then, ]

The mark you have. What is it?

Yeah.

[He really hadn't expected anyone, let alone multiple people, to be this happy about him pulling some of his weird music collection from his phone, but he's really glad they are.]

It's um, a blessing from Hope. The god blessings, or at least his anyway, give you like, supernatural powers; I know this one can be used to heal people.

[And that's pretty much the best power he could ever ask for here.]

Is it permanent?

I don't think so. Other people who've had it says it wore off for them after awhile.

I did not know they offered these abilities to us.

[ It doesn't temper her view of them, but it rounds out her understanding. ]

There are no side effects?

Yeah, it's pretty uncommon, but it does happen.

[And her question gives him pause a moment.]

I uh... I actually don't know. I mean, I've never heard anything about side effects but I also don't know a ton about the blessing, so...

[So good question.]

Well, we will know if you start feeling strange... when we are not actively being influenced by the gods.

Yeah, and if uh, I notice anything I'll definitely let people know. I would think Hope would kind of warn us about that though.

[Probably. Maybe.]

[ Aware of the irony in the words, Wanda says them anyway. ]

I would hope so.
