This is much better than a few days ago. I feel like a million bucks!

[And speaking of bucks, there's a large oryx behind him. He sort of nudges Rashid and demands pets.]

Oh, and don't mind my new buddy here. He's really cool. Just showed up after this weird sound and wanted attention. This is normal around here, right?

[Rin stares a little fervently at the Oryx.]

Kuro's pretty self-reliant, too! It's nice when you don't have to worry about them!

[He looks back at Rashid.]

Hey, I'm Rin Okumura! I'm an ExWire, nice to meet you!

[Might as well try to make friends through a familiar, right?]

And nice to meet you, Rin. I'm Rashid, occasionally of the turbulent wind.

[The oryx gets scritches for behaving himself while Rashid talks to his new friend.]

What's an ExWire?

[Rin gives a confused look as he's asked to what an ExWire is.]

What do you mean, 'What's an ExWire?' You're an Exorcist, aren't you?

[Because that's how Familiars work in his world, y'know? Maybe this guy just doesn't know his divisions... He still hasn't got the hang of this world and his world.]

An ExWire is an Exorcist in training.

No...? I'm not an exorcist. I'm just a hero trying to do the right thing.

[And hanging out with his new oryx friend.]

Really? I didn't know you had to train with animals to become an exorcist. Must be pretty hardcore.

Whoa, you're a hero? That's so cool!

[Welcome to Rin's easily impressionable fantasy land. He's all smiles again.]

Well, you don't have to train with animals. Some of us are just lucky. But still, what do you do?

[He grins at being called cool. Most people back home think he's annoying.]

Well, I travel the world to become a better fighter. And I help people whenever I can.

[There's a heroic pose to be had here, but the oryx butts his head against Rashid instead.]

What does an exorcist do, then? Is it like in the movies where you cast out evil demons who throw stuff around the room?

[Rin fantasizes about traveling the world and saving people for a moment. Oh, how he would be adored. It'd be so cool!]

Man, that's so neat! I'm jealous!

Yea, I guess it's kind of like the movies? But, creepy possession doesn't happen a lot. They kind of walk around and show up wherever and we go to help people and stop the demons from destroying everything.

[Of course, one of the first ones he saw was a possession. And there's Satan. But that seems to be reserved for more powerful demons.]

[It is a pretty sweet life, at least in Rashid's mind. He got to learn from the great Dhalsim and fight the legendary Ryu. Both of them kicked his ass, but still!]

That sounds like it would be a pain after a while. I bet they like to show up more than once in a year or so, right?

[Rin looks thoughtful for a moment.]

Uhh... It's pretty regular actually.

[Probably because Rin's a demon magnet, but he's not going to say that here.]

Sometimes several times a week. They're all pretty easy to deal with, though.

[Rin grins at the last part. Most demons he faces are a breeze. Most.]

A world with demons everywhere? That's got to suck, even if they are easy to handle.

[He imagines having to chase a demon around the first thing in the morning.]

I like it. Being able to save people is really cool! And field experience is way easier than studying!

[Rin scrunches his face in disapproval]

Reading passages sucks way more... Yukio always says, "It's so important."

[He quotes Yukio mockingly.]

But he just doesn't get it. I learn way better hands on!

I can't argue with that. I've learned a lot more going hand-to-hand with other fighters as opposed to reading about them online.

Sure, reading about getting better is important, but how can you improve unless you put it to use?

[Even if it is about fighting demons.]

Right? It's the only way to learn!

[Rin would rather not read at all, unless it's a manga.]

So, you train alot, huh? That's pretty cool! How many fights have you won?

I've won a couple here and there. Not too shabby for a new guy, I think.

[Less than he wants to admit, but being a hero isn't about winning, right? It's about training and getting better!]
