You may have noticed some abnormal behavior regarding the Door. Normally it doesn't bring in anything so large, and we did not expect it to do so this time. Delight and I have been attempting to alter the Door to send you home, as you have so often requested, but as I have said again and again, we have very little knowledge in this area. We will try again.

My appreciation for those who slew the dragons. We did not intend on their arrival, and I would be willing to grant you a favor in return for your efforts - if it's within my power, and not too foolish.

[Sato's clearly recording from somewhere high up, but exactly where isn't clear; the background is nothing but cavern ceiling.]

Hello, fellow residents of Hadriel. I'm Sato.

I'd hoped I'd have something more important to say the first time I posted anything publicly, but it turns out I just have a question for all of you.

You see, where I'm from, there's no such thing as magic. But I know that many of you are from places where it really does exist in one form or another. So to those of you out there, I'd really like to hear from you about how it works, who can learn it, and anything else you wouldn't mind sharing.

After all, with dragons flying around, this seems like as good a time as any to talk about the fantastical.

I have been informed by my siblings what has occurred in my absence from Hadriel. I am Confusion, and you are our new citizens for the time being.

I would strongly recommend that you do not go into the tunnels. They are there for protection, not recreation. However, since apparently you can't be trusted to listen to warnings, by tomorrow all of your communication devices that Hope has provided you with should be updated to include navigational assistance.

I would appreciate it if you took detailed notes regarding any malfunctions that occur while in the caves should you survive the incident.

[ Will Kanda ever use something beyond text and voice? WHO KNOWS. He's a little breathless, very likely from fighting the new horde of zombies that have come to encroach on underground his home, but when he speaks? When he speaks, there's not a hint of irritation or exhaustion, rather the exact opposite of it.

There's definitely groaning off in the distance as more slowly make their way toward him, but he has a moment. ]

Fear, is this honestly the best you have? [ There's a smirk in his voice as he's definitely grinning widely off screen. ] You know, when someone poses a challenge, you ought to actually step up your game.

This is still weak.

[Pardon Rashid while he's enjoying the music a little -too- much. And it seems he's found some new threads while he's at it.]

This is much better than a few days ago. I feel like a million bucks!

[And speaking of bucks, there's a large oryx behind him. He sort of nudges Rashid and demands pets.]

Oh, and don't mind my new buddy here. He's really cool. Just showed up after this weird sound and wanted attention. This is normal around here, right?

[Please say yes.]

[As much as Lilith's got a distaste for Fear, she loves any excuse to put on a stellar performance. She's got a palm, shimmering with purple phase energy, facing up just barely in sight at the edge of the feed, to set the mood: the wicked grin on her face is cast in shadow.]

Okay, okay, I got one. Picture this. [Lilith clears her throat, and puts her best DM voice on:]

You're on Pandora-- you and your teammates are the only people you've seen for miles and miles on the barren, dry wastes. Except for the Psychos who tried to chew your leg off. Soooo... the only sane people, I guess.

You're starving. You're tired. Two of you are almost bled out, held up by painkillers and the most minor of healing injections, numbing all the nerves in your body that're telling you to turn back and to stop chasing this next kill. But, hell, if you've come this far, you're not going to stop, are you?

And. [Dramatic pause.] At last, you find it. The Mothrakk. It's the mother of all the Rakks you've ever seen on Pandora: a span of torn-up skin wings bigger than you ever thought possible, scabbed-up flesh over its terrifying bony frame! How the hell is it flying, you ask? You don't have time to contemplate that shit, it's spitting fireballs at you, raining hellfire down from the fucking skies!

Whoops. [She's knocked the camera over while gesticulating mid-story. (You do have time to contemplate, apparently.) Lilith clears her throat and resets the camera before picking the tale right back up again.]

Over an hour of fierce battle, third degree burns, burnt-out rocket launchers, and exploded rover turrets later, the beast is dead. You've all won. The horrible creature comes down like a meteor, and it shakes the earth where it falls... a mile away.

[Lilith's phase energy blinks out.]

You walk all the way there, and it's only dropped a white-level gun.

[Is she gonna go th-- yep. She is.] A Tediore.

Dun-duh-duuuuuuun.

Ah... don't mind the lights. I thought they might set the mood a little.

[Fear smiles into the camera. His face is eerily lit by some type of hanging lamp above him, which seems to sway gently in the nonexistent wind. The smile is predatory, the tone is light, yet sinister.]

To all of you new humans, my name is Fear. I opened the Door, and now I've decided to stop your light that has been so generously provided to you since your arrival. For this next few days, I'd like to promote a contest: whoever can scare their fellow friends the most, be it through stories, jokes, or bodily harm- will receive a blessing from me. I'll only give out three blessings.

[There's a pause.]

-ah, and you have five days. Good luck.

[The feed shuts off there. A few minutes later, a new text post from Fear arrives on the network]

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who was afraid of death. Whenever he went out to play, he would hide in a small cave near his home and hope that none of the predators came to eat him up. One day he found a small pathway in the cave, just big enough to fit his body through. He thought he heard the thump of footsteps from outside so he forced himself into the pathway. It twisted and turned so much that light no longer shone through and he was alone in the dark- or so he thought.

He began to hear a soft thump in the wall that he was pressed against. And again. And again. And it came louder and louder, faster and faster. The boy scrambled backward, trying to get back to the surface of the cave, but when he reached the entrance, he only found another wall. In complete darkness, with the thumping sounding like a giant drum in his ears, he screamed.

Some days later, a search party finally found a trace of him when they found... a human heart, still thumping on the ground next to a crumbling rock wall!!!
