You may have noticed some abnormal behavior regarding the Door. Normally it doesn't bring in anything so large, and we did not expect it to do so this time. Delight and I have been attempting to alter the Door to send you home, as you have so often requested, but as I have said again and again, we have very little knowledge in this area. We will try again.

My appreciation for those who slew the dragons. We did not intend on their arrival, and I would be willing to grant you a favor in return for your efforts - if it's within my power, and not too foolish.

I'd have expected you to enlist Sorrow's help, seeing as he seems to know more about the Door than the rest of you.

He does not think you should be sent home.

And you're incapable of convincing him otherwise?

He believes that you're of more use to us here, and I can see the validity of his argument.

But do you agree with him? Have you decided to stop trying to send us home?

I think he has very good points, but for now I'm still trying.

There are other things to be considered. Also, a number of you are now angry with me for attempting to do what you've been demanding this entire time, so I must admit I'm beginning to see his point more and more.

Now, what other things? Why else would you want, or need to keep us?

We might need the power you provide for other things. And, of course, I do not know how to send you home. I can't keep trying like this indefinitely.

Then convince Sorrow. He knows. You brought him back. Shouldn't he fucking owe you, or something?

He helps in the ways he thinks are best. We disagree, but I can't force him to agree with me or do as I say.

Great, so what I'm hearing is that we're going to be stuck here. You'll try a little more, but then you'll stop, and I will never see my dad again.

I can promise nothing more than an attempt. That may be exactly what happens.

You know, if you had tried a little harder at the start of this, people would have fought you less. They would have wanted to help you. This could have all been very different.

At the start of this, I had almost no power. I did everything I could to keep you all alive and safe. There is nothing more I could have done.

You could have been open with us, that would have been a really a good start. Fuck, Hope, you could have just not treated us like problem strays. There was more you could have done. There's still more you could do.

I don't believe there is anything I could have done to make you, in particular, give me a chance. I do what I can to ensure the continued survival of all those here.

That's a really shitty excuse.

Are you saying that I could have won you over, then?

Not easily, but maybe. Probably. If anything, it might have made being here more bearable, less frustrating. And, fuck, if it didn't work on me, it would have worked on most others, and then you would have had more people working with you instead actively against you.

Interesting. I thought you would prefer honestly over false kindness, but I have since learned that I was incorrect. Unfortunately, I am afraid I'm not inclined to take advice from someone who has expressed their desire for my death.

That's all right. I was just letting you know where you went wrong, so when all the things you care for start to slip away from you again, you won't have to wonder why.
