You may have noticed some abnormal behavior regarding the Door. Normally it doesn't bring in anything so large, and we did not expect it to do so this time. Delight and I have been attempting to alter the Door to send you home, as you have so often requested, but as I have said again and again, we have very little knowledge in this area. We will try again.

My appreciation for those who slew the dragons. We did not intend on their arrival, and I would be willing to grant you a favor in return for your efforts - if it's within my power, and not too foolish.

[He can't believe this. He can't believe that he's actually...yeah. Well, hell. He's figured that this might be one of the few positive friendships he's formed here that might be, in some ways, salvageable. Doin' his best. He's not used to things being salvageable, fixable.

God he hates that euphemism.

Even less is he used to trying for anyone's sake. Even a friend's.

So maybe he's more than a little worried. And maybe he's gotten good, real good, at recognizing when someone's puttin' on a false front of okay-ness when they ain't really doin' so okay beneath. He's been doin' that enough his entire life.]

[Simple. Nonchalant. Displaying none of the turmoil going on inside him. Wade doesn't bother to wait for an answer. As soon as he sends out the text, he makes his way over to the sink to splash his face with cold water, drinking a few glasses of it for good measure. The pleasant cloud enveloping his mind fades bit by bit, sobering him up-- a waste of good booze, he thinks with some regret, but necessary. He's had a few too many slip-ups, and he can't afford to let Sans know how deep his fixation goes.

Waiting for a friend to show up shouldn't feel so much like waiting for your own executioner.]
