[Chris is at the bar today, looking like he's more interested in having a nap than making a broadcast. But he has a large coffee, at least, and manages a smile for the camera at the video starts.]

Hey. It's uh, been a little weird around here lately, huh?

[What with people arriving in two waves at completely the wrong time and all. But at least there's been some good snacks, even if Chris carefully avoided Delight's energy shots.]

Um, this has nothing to do with any of that, but I was uh... Hoping someone would be willing to like, talk about making a deal to trade for some bullets or something. I kind of ran through what I had during the whole zombie incident.

[Or well, most of them; he'd used the last one later on during the Confusion event, but those are unnecessary details.]

So uh... Yeah. That's about it.

[Have an awkward, dorky wave before he disconnects.]

I uh, guess it depends on what sort of thing you want. I mean, everyone here's pretty... Different.

[Also he's kind of uncertainly watching her haul that Skulltula around.]

[Guns are fun, okay? At least most of the time. Sort of. He's finding them less and less fun over time.]

Well um, a shotgun will knock them back for a few seconds. Considering you're pretty much dead if one gets close enough, that's kind of important.

Oh. [ That makes sense, and Allison definitely doesn't want someone unprepared going hand-to-hand with monsters. But: ] Have you ever considered training with another type of weapon? Something that doesn't require ammunition? It won't have you killing monsters right away, but you also won't get stuck in a loop of needing bullets to get bullets again.

Well, sort of. I had sort of an arrangement with someone who was here before about the bullets thing, and I've traded for other stuff before.

[Hopefully this will all work out as well as past things have.]

[Chris winces a little when she falls over, leaning closer to the screen as if he might be able to help--or see better, at least--even though it's totally useless. But okay, good, she's apparently fine, and actually--]

Dude, I would never do that to someone; oatmeal and raisin's the worst. But um, yeah, actually; my friend got some cookies as a prize thing awhile ago, and I still have a few. Not a lot, but still.

Yeah, that'd be um... Practical, but I'm kind of not exactly cut out for using anything other than a gun.

[He may or may not be a little clumsy.]

I mean, I wouldn't rule it out or anything, but I think it might actually be less dangerous for me to fight a monster unarmed than it would be to handle a sword or something.

There um... I don't think there were any left back at home.

[He's pretty sure they killed them all, or at least most of them, in the combination of Mike's exploration of the Sanatarium and Sam's blowing up of the Lodge. In Hadriel it's kind of a complicated story but there are no active wendigo left either, but even if there were Chris can't say revenge would be the right word for anything he'd consider doing.]

I'm um, good if I just... Never have to deal with one again, I guess.

Uh, because I'm delightful and inspiring company?

And wow, okay, I'll have you know I'm becoming like, a super hardcore monster hunter or whatever. I've totally not died any of the times I went to get bullets before.

[That may or may not be because Lilith was there but still.]

I um, had a great arrangement with someone who was here before who would you know. Make sure I didn't get eaten and all, but she's not here anymore so... Yeah.

[His monster-hunting days are now down to emergency self-defense, not planned trips.]

No idea on like, exact specifics, but considering what emotion she wants I'd guess it would be something like pissing a bunch of people off.

[And then he pauses, a hint of a devious grin appearing.]

You should totally ask Em about her last deal with Rage and how that went.

The party food was super weird.

[He'd tried it out of curiosity, and isn't totally sure if he regrets it or not.]

Considering what they've done with the food before, though, I'm uh... Not going to complain about the taste being weird as long as it's like, something that's actually okay to eat.

[Well, that's interesting, and he'll keep it in mind. But he doesn't pry further, instead just offering a small smile.]

Thanks. Hopefully, yeah, or people just might see me swinging around a sword like an idiot.

[Spoiler alert: they won't, but still. Maybe he really should bother learning to use a bow like he'd considered before, however...]

Not unless that huge rotting bear thing that tried to eat my face is still somewhere I can find it, no.

[Which he doubts, and also it smelled bad enough while it was alive. Who knows what a few weeks would've done to it.]

People keep suggesting I learn to use like, a sword or something and give up on the bullets, but can you even imagine me with a sword?

[He says it with a small, self-deprecating grin.]

No, we haven't; I only just got here pretty recently. I'm Allison. [ She gives him a friendly smile. ] And if you ever change your mind about wanting to learn, let me know. I've got some experience in hand-to-hand combat, so I could give you some tips.

Otherwise I'd probably suggest finding someone who can help you out and splitting the rewards with them. If you can't find anyone that's stockpiling bullets, anyway.

I guess swords don't need reloading. Real inconvenient that most humans don't have a whole lotta magic.

[At least monsters can summon some bullets if they ever need 'em. Even if Sans's ain't all that strong as far as bullets go, he can pack the illusion of power if he needs to. If only by cheatin' the system.]
